EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

I feel really stupid having to ask this question, but I have spent the last hour and cannot for the life of me figure this out.
Problem:
I open TOOLS----> EDIT and get the Edit Songs Dialog box.
The dialog box is not complete - it does not show the bottom half of the screen. It is cut off just under the Language and Genre parameters.

I can resize to make it WIDER, but I cannot resize to make it LONGER.

Same problem if I maximize or minimize the screen.

I DID read the manual. It specifically states how to "select the right edge to resize and make it WIDER". The manual says nothing about how to make it longer.

I am running Hoster version 4.32.
Dell Inspiron N7010
Core I3
4 GB Ram
500 GB Hard drive
Windows 7

YES, I did all of the windows updates, and followed all of the the steps to change settings. (Although I will admit that some of these were not completely clear, and the instructions are not exact for windows 7).

Suggestions?
If this ends up being something really obvious or simple, I will be embarrassed. However right now embarrassed sounds better than frustrated.
Thanks

They're working on this and it will most likely be fixed for you in the next update.

Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

In the mean time you may want to try a smaller standard size display setting such as 1024 x 768 or 800x 600. This may make it fit better.

Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

thanks -
changing resolution doesn't help.
is there another way to edit (need to mark as multiplex)? or to delete the song and re-add?

I had this same problem with the edit song dialog box. Changing the screen resolution does not help. You need to change your zoom setting, Control Pannel, Display. Set the zoom to 100%, that should do it. 125% and 150% settings will shorten that partucular dialog box and dosen't show the bottom portion. It worked for me anyway.

Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

Another setting you can try the DPI setting ?

Control Panel/Display /Set custom text size. Try a different setting. I think you will have to restart before any effect takes place.

I don't say this will work but could be worth a try.

Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

Hawaiian - this worked! Thank you!
Roy - I didn't try this, since the zoom adjustment took care of it, but thanks to you both for the suggestions.

Glad to hear it. I find the fonts a little hard to read at 100%, but if you go into Hoster tools you can make the font bigger there.

Will this work on a mini computer, and where is this zoom button you speak of?

I am using Windows 7 64bit. I went to Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization, Display. Onece there you can choose 100%, 125%, 150%, or choose a custom setting. I use 100% and the edit song dialog box shows completely. At 125% the botton portion of the edit song dialog box is cut off. I hope this helps. Sorry, I don't know about a mini computer. I guess it would depend on the operation system.

On XP with Geforce the settings for this are from the Display Properties/Settings/Advanced, you should see DPI settings normal is 96dpi large 120 or custom. If you open custom you should see it written as 100% for 96 DPI you can set it between 75% & 200%.

Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize

We have done a lot of work on the Edit Songs dialog, including;

1. Making it shorter by removing some space vertically

2. Making the HEIGHT resizeable up to the bottom buttons (this is the only difference that may be preventing it from resizing as the other dialogs do)

3. Making the WIDTH resizeable to see all possible fields for each song

4. Allow changing a BookID Root and Track#

5. A new Find-Replace button (shows a dialog) in Multiple view

6. A new Remove Silence group that allows processing only selected songs in the Results window, including the prior "Adjust Start" and "Adjust End" play buttons and controls so you can insure all lyrics appear, even before or after the music ends.

We added a lot of new features and removed bugs. We have more to go, but I'm about to say we clean things up so we can release 5.00 in... let's just say sooner.

Smile Re: EDIT Dialog Box - Resize Temp Fix

I had the same resize problem with my 10 inch net book, but stumbled onto a temporary fix.

I was using a larger monitor as the singers screen and switched gears to edit a song and I discovered I could move the edit screen to the larger monitor and it was a complete edit screen.

I know MTU is working on fixes for the current version of Hoster, but this is a temporary fix that works to fix the resize problem.
