Change Marquee back ground color

Guess I don't have it figured. I click purple , then apply, then ok and the background is grey

How many colors do you have your display set to? I click Purple for it and I get purple.

snd purple, marquee will not change from default to the same purple

Did you click Apply in Marquee? Have you tried another color to see if it changes at all?
