With some experimentation, I've found an easier way to place words while making a CDG. Here are the steps:
1. Import lyrics for your song into KHP like normal. 2. Import a standard WAV of your song into KHP. 3. Start the process, placing words AS YOU HEAR THEM. 4. Once finished, IMPORT the WAV file for your song, MINUS THE VOCAL TRACK. The sweeping action should not be affected, or at least not in my tests. Both WAVs should be the exact same length for this to work. Good luck.

Couldn't have said it better myself. What you have posted is absolutely correct, and a design feature we had not revealed yet. You can start with one .wav file, place the lyrics to it, and then open a different .wav file of the identical length before exporting the finished cdg song. One way to get the identical length file is to use Vogone I or KeyRite on the original and create a new processed file. The audio sample values are changed, but the QUANTITY remains identical; i.e. the same length file.
Initially, MTU intended to embed Vogone I and KeyRite into Microstudio and/or Karaoke Home Producer. However, the difficulties of developing and polishing each made it impossible to integrate at this time. Somewhere in the future, maybe, for those who own all three. |

![]() This is great!
How about if the second imported (deVocalized) file is made about 0.2 seconds, would it then show the delay in the word placing that some of us are finding hard to do? I will experiment and see how it goes. BANDL |

![]() It works!
If (see Cid's original instruccions) the second .wav file that you import into KHP is delayed .2 or so seconds, the delay is very good. Here is how I did it: 1- I took a vocalized version of a song and made a .wav file. 2- I took the same song, de-vocalized it and save it to a different file. 3- The de-vocalized version was imported into my Digital Audio software (Digital Orchestrator Pro) and I added approximately 0.2 seconds of empty space at the start of both tracks. 4- Saved the delayed version as a .wav file 5- Went to KHP and produced the song with the fully vocalized version (as Cid suggests). 6- Finally, I exchanged the fully vocalized version for the delayed .wav file (again as Cid suggests) 7- The result is a song with a .2 seconds cueing ahead of the music. ITS GREAT! Again thanks Cid BANDL PS Having 3 weeks of vacation, I'll be doing a lot of exploring into KHP...I'll keep you posted! |

digital audio software
hey Bandl,
I'd be very interested in the software you speak of... ie. Where to purchase? system requirements?? I'm on the edge of buying a new machine and I want to go up to 1 GHz. I'll keep the hard drive and CDR. Thanks!!!

I am using Digital Orchestrator Pro from Voyetra Turtle Beach (www.voyetra.com), however I found that using AudioStation32 from the same people, I can do the same thing. Digital Orchestrator (similar to Cakewalk) is a very good program that handles MIDI and digital audio files, it is much more that you would need for adding a few tenth of a second blank lead to .wav files. AudioStation32 was packaged with my computer (Dell Dimension XPS 450MHz and 128MB SDRAM) when I bought it 2 years ago, so I am sure that is not a very expensive software, but it works perfectly for what we want to do. In fact, it works better that the DOP for this purpose. There are 100s of this type of software in the market. I am almost certain that if you by a new computer with a good sound card, it will come with some sort of .wav processing software. Let me know if I can be of help. BANDL |

I have Cake Walk but I have not explored all of its capabilities. Thanks for the information.
