Thumbs down Karaoke Music going through only one set of speakers (911)

Every since I bought the upgrade I have had nothing but problems. Urghhhh.
My main problems is that the singers voices goes through both set of speakers but the music only goes on one. I have put in another sound card. Dj on one, Karaoke on the other. When i run dj everything is great. I have switched sound cards, checked all cables and cords
I can not figure out what is going on. I have looked at settings cant find nothing there either. What could be my problem?,
My pc is the hoster rack system
I know both speakers work since dj runs great on either soundcard.
any help is appreciated.

Have you looked in Options tab audio settings?
In the later versions of Hoster it allows for 2 sound cards perhaps yours is set wrong. Try swapping the output of the top one for the bottom one.
One other thing that may affect this is the Stereo & Vocal buttons on the main display.

Roy.

By "singers voices" are you referring to singing through a microphone or the singers voices on a multiplexed song?

If you are talking about a multiplexed song file , that would be normal for many of them and it is how they make it multiplexed. They record the music on one channel and record the lead singer on the other channel. When you cut the lead singer out (with the Stereo/Vocal buttons) then the music from the other channel goes to both channels out. Try an non-multiplexed song

If you are talking about using a microphone for the voice, then I have to ask how is the microphone signal input (through the computer or through a mixer)?
If through the mixer what kind it is?

THANKS to both of you. i will go back and move the sound cards top to bottom etc, Like I said I have switched sound cards back and forth and Dj still sound great. i also have headphones that work great. the problem is the karaoke singer who is using the microphone. His/Her voice and the music goes on one speaker and the other speaker has only the voice of the singer. i use JBL speakers. 4 speakers and a Behringer mixing board. Everything worked great till I got the upgrade. And MTU is no help at all. Generic Emails are sent back to me. I have it set up at a bar today so I am going to go and try all these hints.I have been running karaoke on one set of speakers and the people can not tell so I am keeping my mouth shut about that (lol) But I really need it fixed.
Frustrating
Thank you G

In your first post you said "My main problems is that the singers voices goes through both set of speakers but the music only goes on one"
On the second you say "the problem is the karaoke singer who is using the microphone. His/Her voice and the music goes on one speaker and the other speaker has only the voice of the singer."
Two different Things.
Are you sure this isn't something to do with the way your mixer is set up ?

First I would plug a Head phone into your sound card output, the same one you plug into your mixer. play a karaoke song and notice if the sound is coming from both Channels. If it is then the problem is not from the computer.
I take it your mic is plugged into your mixer & not the computer.

Roy.

What model of Behringer mixer is it?
Are these powered JBL speakers (you didn't mention an amplifier)?
I really don't think it is the computer (Hoster) either.
What other problems have you had since upgrading and what version did you upgrade to?

this might not help you, but did you do all the recommended changes before you did the upgrade?, i just now upgraded my back-up laptop to 4.11 and did the changes prior to upgrade, and i have no problem except i had to just change the playback offset.are your speakers daisy chained or have them on a sub-mix..check your board, the music side might be panned to the right and the mic might be panned to the left..i dont use Behringer so i dont know how you have yours set-up..

Roy, no my problem was explained the same. If it was misunderstood I am sorry. When I said voice it is meaning the karaoke singer. I did say dj works great. which means the voices come through on both speakers, it is ONLY karaoke I am having problems with, I have two sound cards realtek (which came with the rack system I bought) and SB. Realtek is for Karaoke, Sb for DJ. I have switched soundcards and the same problems happens with the karaoke. I have powered speakers and i have put all new cables on. So it is not a cable problem. IT is not a speaker problem because i have great sounding music coming through both of them while on dj.. I have updated to the brand new software which I had to pay 70 bucks for. One month old. I have did all the required updates as per mtu when it was put on. Step by step. I had NO problems with the older version that i bought 2 years ago. but i figured I would update to the new one with instabuttons and scrolling marque.
I am going to the bar now and going through all the audio settings again and swapping the outputs, I am NOT a computer whiz. I had a computer consultant help me with all the installing.
I will let you all know the outcome and i will have my pc consultant on the phone with me while I am doing these changes. Otherwise it is and 140 mile trip that I was trying to avoid.
Thanks again, I do have internet access on my pc at the bar so I will be checking in,
signed....Lost and Confused lol

Make sure your pan knob for the music channel is still dead center(or wherever you normally set it). If you run stereo and the knob was inadvertantly cranked one way or another you would loose music in one speaker while microphones would still be in both speakers..

Also try playing something in windows media player. If that too is just in speaker you'll know for sure it's not Hoster.

Sam

i don't trust those cables that much, i did a christmas party last sunday, and i was told that they needed 5 mics, i have 3 cordless mics and 4 corded, bought a pair of mic cables, did all the sound check, everything was fine, did a sound check again 1/2 before the party started, both cables are dead, tried it on my powered speakers, dead as a door knob, i ended using my older cables...

Sounds like bad cables, or bad mics.
