There are two reasons why you can't delete a song in the edit screen. One is if they are in the playlist and two would be if the file doesn't exist in your KMA files. If they are in the playlist then delete them from the playlist and then you can delete them in the edit screen. If the files are not there then just Rebuild the database and that will get them out of the database.
The difference between WMA and MP3. They are both audio compression formats. The biggest difference I can think of is WMA does lose as much quality as the MP3, but most people cannot tell the difference. Either works fine in Hoster.

Go to Tools/Songs Database/ Rebuild.
You can use Windows Media Player to import your cd music in MP3 format. Under RIP go to format and set it to MP3.

I highly recommend reading the manual for Hoster. It can answer a lot of your questions.

1. Deleting a song in Edit Songs updates the Songs Database for you.

2. Use Songverter tto "Batch" convert all your already imported songs to .MP3 format for use on the Web.
