Problem

I have hoster V4.06. When I open it up a notice opens that says.... The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find the input table query 'Singers'. Make sure it exists and that it's name is spelled correctly. (3078). I have no idea of what to do or where to go. Does anybody have any ideas or information I could use?

Thanks,
Ernie

Did you delete or move the Singers database file (singers.mdb)?

Hey Ernie,
Reinstalling will create a new singer.mdb. This means your Singers Database will be empty. Do a Widows search for "singers.mdb" and see if it got moved from the C:\MTU\Hoster folder.

I hope this helps.

Jim

MadJim,
If it's deleted, then how do I get it back?

Thanks,
Ernie

If you deleted it and it's not anywhere on your hard drive, the reinstall will create a new one.

Sorry for the confusion.

Jim

Dale and Madjim,
I reinstalled it, and the notice still comes up. It is not in the recycle bin. Should I try a different version? If you have any other ideas, let me know.

Thanks,
Ernie

When did this happen? What had you changed or installed on the computer just prior to this?
Is there a file in C:\MTU\Hoster called singers.mdb? Do you have one any where else like in the Program files or in your Documents and Settings? Do a search of the C: drive and see if there are any copies of it and where they are.
Is your license and Upgrade to 4.0 or a full license (makes a difference in instructions)?

Dale,
I tried to open Hoster and the screen was blank, so I double clicked the blank screen and it opened. This same thing happened about three weeks ago. Anyway, when it opened this time, it then gave me that information. Now, everytime I open it that information pops up. I do have a license for 4.0. I went into C:\MTU\Hoster. In Hoster there is a Singers.mdb. I double clicked Singers.mdb, then a page opened and it had two choices... Create query in design view. Below it, it had, Create query by using wizard. I just opened my Laptop, which I don't have a problem with, and in Queries, it has the same two lines???
I might have found a problem!! On my Laptop I opened Tables, and there are five things, one of which is Singers. On my desktop under Table I only have four things.... I'm missing Singers. Do you have any idea how to create Singers on that list?

Thanks,
Ernie

On you desktop delete the file singers.mdb. Then copy the one from the laptop to the desktop. that should fix it.
