Exclamation Hoster shows CD drive good but won't read CDG's

I had this problem when I upgraded to 4.08

The Cd Drive read CDG's then after I upgraded to 4.08 it stopped. I posted a thread and was told to open 3.4 test the drive and save. I did that and no more problem reading drive. (xp OS on this machine))

Now, I upgraded to 4.09 ( new laptop) and the same thing happened. I went to the support page and followed instructions. Also, opened 3.4 and (the drive works) tested CDdrive, saved and still 4.09 doesn't work. This machine uses vista 2.3ghz 3gb ram 350gb hd.

Any suggestions?

Bob

The drive doesn't work or shows in the drive settings as Bad. If it is the latter look to the right side and click the button that says Good. This will force Hoster to see it as Good. This will not work if it is a case that the drive doesn't read CDG in Hoster.

Hoster shows the drive good and it still doesn't read CDG's when trying to use the "disc" button. To use a disc during a show.

Let me be clear it worked with the previous ver 4.08

It also, works with ver3.4

Are these discs Chartbuster or Backstage? There was a problem that was preventing Chartbuster (prior to August 2008) and Backstage discs from importing correctly. You would get the audio with just a black background with no words. If this is what you are getting wait until tomorrow or Wednesday and there will be a corrected release out.

Problem with CD Drives

I am also having problem with my CD Drives, after loading 4.09c I can not get Hoster to recognize my CD Drives, I have an internal on my laptop and an external NexStar cd drive. When I try to import new disks (several brands were tried) it locks up Hoster. All other features of the upgrade seem to work fine. Both drives worked fine prior to the upgrade. I am using a Dell laptop using windows XP.
Any Suggestions?

What exactly do you mean by not recognizing?
Do the drives show in the CD/DVD drives default settings?
Are they showing as Good or Bad?
You did also have problems with these drives with 4.08 too. Did you retest them with 4.09C?
If you downloaded before June 10th then you need to redownload and install 4.09C. This is to fix an import format problem with older Chartbuster, Backstage and other brands.

4.09c is working fine for me right now. I'm not going to upgrade my backup laptop. I'm leaving 4.08 on it.

The only problem I'm having is the info boxes when importing cdgs or importing a user disc the info windows only show a partial window. example: the cancel button can't be seen on the importing track or the writing KMA windows.

I finally got it to work, I had to go back to version 3.4 and set my default CD Drives then re-open 4.09c (loaded 6-16) The same fix I used when I downloaded 4.8 when the problem first started.
Appreciate the quick reply

Actually if you had followed the procedure I listed above about the button on the right side (Good) then you wouldn't have to go back to 3.4. That would have set them to good.
