Vista & XP & Hoster

Couple Questions
I've been wondering.
My new laptop for home now, I practice with, is a Vista machine (X2 Dual core-4gb ram) and has an older Hoster program that freezes when I click on a song. Now I've upgraded to Hoster is 3.321 from 3.316. I did all the suggestion that MTU told me to do to get the Vista machine and Hoster to work together. But Hoster still stops working when I click on a song. It goes to"CUE" and that's it.

The recent an email from MTU tells me to use 3.316 and it should work, but MTU's latest email also now suggest to use 3.321a or 4.08. I can't find 3.315 or 3.321a on the web site. I see Hoster 4.08 and if I buy it, do I buy just the upgrade as I am a current Hoster user? I get a little confused as which one I have, have to get or need to get.

Now on my laptop that I use OUT has XP and Hoster 3.312 which works just fine. So, I was wondering if I get and install the Hoster 4.08 on the Vista machine, will Hoster 4.08 work ok on my XP too without problems?

Another thingy, I was wondering how do I do a search for a song using my XP & Hoster 3.312. My files are all MP3Gs. I've never been able to get the search to work for me even after extensive tries. I've read the manual and read and read & tried & tried. No luck for me. For years I kept 2 programs open, Hoster & Kjpro. I also us an external hard drive with my XP machine if that matters.
Sorry, I guess it was more than a couple question, Hum.
Thanks

Part of this I answered in a new thread I started from your first post.
The question is are you MP3G's imported into Hoster or do you add each one when you want to play it?

Neither

I don't do either or I am sure of what you mean. But I'll describe what I do and you can tell me if it is correct.
I open Hoster. I pick songs from my file folders that I sing or some one else will sing using the "MP3G" button at the top. When I am done with a show or job I close Hoster. When I do a job again I open Hoster and the last songs are still there and if it is the same people, I'll leave the songs up just in case they want to sing them again. Some jobs (1 Hour) I do all the singing for people. I usually name those playlist whatever to keep them seperated. That's it. Does that help?

What you are doing is the second part of what I was asking.
You really need to read the manual. You can import those MP3+G song files with Hoster (Import Songs/Import Hard Drive Files up top) and they will be permanently assigned a BookID which you can use to add those songs to the playlist.

Question I tried

At the top of mine is "Import Tracks" and sub menu is "Import CD Tracks" and "Import Hard Drive Tracks". The direction in the "Import Hard Drive Tracks" only allow me to do tracks in a file and not the complete directory or hard drive where all the files are. Is that option in a newer version as I am using Hoster 3.312? I tried using the function and it is very time consuming as it only allows me to do 1 file at a time.

If I am following you correctly then yes if you upgrade to 3.321 or more preferably 4.08 then there has been ass to include all sub-directories. If you have them all in separate folders (say by CD) then you set it to the level above check the box to include and use the "Batch" import.
