no, i mean there are things you have to do to vista to get it ready for hoster.

This is where you find them:
http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/v...de-hoster4.htm This is for Hoster 4 but can't hurt to do them for 3.321 either and then you are ready for 4 when you want to upgrade. When you re-loaded your computer did the external drive come up with a different drive letter from what you were previously using? Is the list of folders in the rebuild screen showing the correct drive and folder or does it list C:\MTU\KMA Files? When you reloaded Windows all your registry entries are wiped out and so Hoster resets to default locations.

When you tell it to rebuild is it saying there aren't any files?
Then do the changes in the link I posted. Vista is hiding the files from Hoster.

i have made all the changes and still nothing when you go to tolls / build song database, yes it clearly shows the kma files i then i select that folder on g:kma files
so it then all kicks in and then says its found nothing should i consider un-installing and re-installing hoster honestly i have 3 copies of hoster and never ever had problem unless the laptop just having a bad day |

The problem isn't Hoster. The problem is Vista.
One thing they don't have listed there yet (will probably be updated after 4.10 is released) is to turn off the UAC. Also, right click on the Hoster program file (not the desktop shortcut) and click on "Run as...", set to Administrator account.
