What kind of file is it?
What do you mean when you say nothing shows up in the file?
Do you mean nothing shows up in the list on the left side of main window or what?
Explain step by step what you have done so we can figure where you went wrong.

write disc

Sorry, I know better.
I've had microstudio since May 2006. I've used it 3 or 4 times to copy a backup disc but went back to using Clone CD because microstudio puts the last song on the disc first. I want to make a disc with my songs to take to other shows so read the manual and got to where I click on hard drive and open a window "add existing tracks to song list". I look in my hard drive, find the files containing my songs, (I have them in two files "songs" and "discs"), click on that file but nothing shows up in the body to select. Why does hoster read these files everyday but microstudio doesn't open them?

What version of MS are you using.
and if you open folder, does it show files.
If you are using an older version of MS, it will not show kma files.
only cdg files.

Please answer the questions above specifically so we can figure out what is wrong.
This does not sound like the current version of Microstudio as it does not "add existing tracks to song list"
