no remote video display

I just upgraded to 4.06 which works great except for the secondary display. I have been running 3.321 and have had absolutely no problem with the video display. Upon installing 4.06 I now have my desktop on the remote but when I click on the display in hoster to send the video it appears off the screen. I can see the right side border but cannot see the full display. I can hear the music okay. I switched back to 3.321 and all works very well. Any ideas. I am using a Dell laptop and a program called ultramon which I have not had a problem with since installing it or any version of Hoster except for 4.06 Thanks Alan

Instead of double clicking, try sliding it over and dragging the corner to resize. Also you can try dragging it over and then double clicking. You can also stretch from the desktop to second display and then dragging the rest to meet it. Let us know if any of these worked for you.

I tried it and funny it works with one exception. The singers names at the bottom are so small you can hardly see them. The marquee is adjustable by font size but not the singers font types. ???? Thanks so far I think together we will get it Allan

What are you displaying? Time/name/song. What font are you using? Try changing ALL of them to the same and don't forget intermission view. It is located under Show Display. Also, don't use ariel black.

The font for each part of the SND (Singer, Song and Time) is changable separately. Click on the Button for Singer and you can change the font size as well as changing the color of the font. The same for each of the others. This works separately on both the Lyrics and Intermission Tabs.

display problem

I open the tools tab, then go to show display. Click on either of the 3 and there is no change. I am unable to change the background display color. I am able to increase the font size, but not the type and even when I apply the changes nothing happens

You are correct that you can not change the type of font because there are fonts that will not work correctly so MTU chose one basic font that does. You stated it was too small. You change change the size of the font and you can change it to Bold or Italics. This is all you can change, but you have to change each one of them. After you have made your choices then click OK too get back to main control and click either Apply or Close and this will make the changes. If you click on the 'X' then no change is made. Same thing with the Color change. No change is made until you click Apply or Close in upper right corner.
Remember though that as you increase the font size the fewer lines you can get on the screen. And if you make changes to the Lyrics Tab they will not show until you play a song and the lyrics screen becomes active.

Another thing is that both displays can be dragged and dropped and manually resized. If you moved the wrong one it will have small fonts for the singers. Hope this helps.

Are you referring to the preview (undocked) and the main displays when you say both?

Correct. I reset my displays after a show and then drag and drop the singers display so that I can set it up to work best for the 6 Televisons it will be playing on. On one occasion I grabbed the preview display by mistake and it resizes nicely, but the fonts stay small. I believe that is how it should work. I am just saying if you grab the preview by mistake as I did it could cause the problem first mentioned in this thread.

secondary display/no display

Hi again,

I finally got my dual display to show the picture on it. I still cannot set the # of singer lines/song names to show clearly and cannot change the font sizes. All I see is very small/unreadable display of the songs/singers and they are on two, three , four, or five lines etc. No single line readable display as I set it for. Tried resizing the screen display and no luck.. Alan

Alan, are you talking about it being unreadable on the Singer's display or the preview? The Preview will be hard to read unless you undock it and increase it's size.

This is wierd. Are you using Vista or XP? Are you logged in as an administrator or just a regular user account?
The way you set how many lines is not by font size but with the controls to the right of "Singer" with the first one being how many lines and th e second number being how many singers per line.
Look in the manual under Show Display/Singers Name Display and it describes each part of this complete with a picture.

weird display

Once again I typed in the entire history and got shut out. Hopefully this time I can make it. This time I will copy and paste. I am logged as administrator always and am using xp home ed. I use my laptop which has a Mobile Radeon 7500 display adapter. I use a program named Ultramon to create the dual display. I have used it ever since I first began using Hoster ver 3.313. My desktop has an actual dual display Nvidia GeForce adapter. I also understand that you have to go to <# singer lines 1 selected> . I am able to change the color on the marquee as well as the font type and size. I am unable to change the font color or font size for the singer display. I am going to try it again on another tv after the tv is free later on when all are in bed. Will advise. Thanks Alan

I just don't see how it is possible for you to change the Marquee and not be able to change the SND. It is all the same screen and the only difference is the marquee still allows you to change the font type where the SND does not allow you to change it from Arial. Both allow the size and color change.
When you make these changes are they still there in the Show Display after you close it and re-open or do they revert back to the original?
Can you do a screen capture and attach it here so I can see what and where you are making the changes?
And please stop making your font so big in here. We are not blind and it does nothing but take up more screen space.

video display

Hello again, I must be doing something wrong I cannot print the screen display. I am following windows help and it is not working. I know I have done it before when I was in contact with Microsoft support as I still have the screen shots. I have a perfect display on the preview window even though I am not able to change the singer lines or # of singers. It is nice and readable. I tried it on a second tv last and got the same results, unreadable singer display and unable to change singers/line # of singers or font, even though I am able to change the color and font size on the marquee. If you can tell me what I am doing wrong with the screen shots I will try them again. Thanks again Alan P.S. I will make the fonts smaller again. I am use to forwarding emails and other docs with larger fonts. Sorry

What resolution do you have your computer screen and tv set to?
What I do for Screen Print is to capture it (ALT-Print Screen) then open Paint and paste it there. Save it as a JPG format. Then you can attach it to a post.
If you are looking at the Preview with no songs playing, then open the Show Display and click on the Intermission tab up top. Down on the bottom of that tab is the SND changes for it and I bet if you make your changes there it will change them in the Preview when you click apply.
I think what you have been doing is trying to change this on what opens first when you open the Show Display which is the Lyrics tab and you will not see those changes immediately which is what is confusing you. There are two places you have to make these adjustments. That is so you can have it set one way for the Singers during there songs (I have mine set for 2 singers) and another way for inbetween songs (Mine is set to 7 or 8 singers).
