Thinking outloud

Has anyone tried to run Hoster through VM ware. For example boot up in Linux and run Hoster with Xp on a virtual machine. I want to try it, but if someone has tried I would like to know.

I have not tried it but I think that it would not work primarily due to Microsofts .net being needed. Sure would be cool to have it working on Ubuntu eh.
