Because I have a Nvidia motherboard my Computer tech friend told me a Nvidia card would be the most compatable.

I had mentioned that from my experiences and discussions with many other DJ's working with video mixing and video playing; that a higher percentage of those that used NVidea had problems playing videos, while those that had an ATI card had much less problems. An NVidea card may work for you, there is really no telling until you try it?

I really don't think a video card will fix you 4.04 problems. I run xp and have both cards, one is on my laptop and the other on my desktop. Both have major problems running 4.04.. Can you use system restore to revert back to 4.03. I am not sure why but for some reason 4.04 runs worse than 4.02.
