I have the same problem as laddie no lyrics i have sp3 installed media player 11 i unstalled hoster and installed again no change the marquee works ok music plays but no video 3.4 works fine it looks like a hoster 401
issue? "ANY FINDINGS TO PROBLEM"

Since you and Laddie and maybe one or two more are the only ones who have had this issue it isn't going to be easy to pin-point the problem.
When you play a song what do you see in the area where the lyrics are supposed to be? Are the lyrics showing in the preview on the main Hoster window?
What type of file are you playing (far right column on playlist)?
Are you seeing the intermission screen between plays?

what i"m seeing in where you would normaly see lyrics is a line going from right to left saying this show is run on video hoster from mtu.com

there is something else i notice the marque on the main screen travels at a high speed going across the top i have a extended monitor thats seems to be running normal.

250 HARD DRIVE
USING 69.3
I did a rebuild on 401
3.4 works fine on my extended monitor. Main screen works fine.
On my desktop there is a same square with the playlists songs there.

Click on Marquee button and you can change the speed and contents of the message.
As to your other problem I have flagged this for Admin to look at. Could be a bug. I don't use any zip files so don't have any basis to help. Other than to ask the obvious questions.
Have you installed WMP11? Components of that are also used for Hoster.

i clicked on marque and did slow down speed thks
wmp11 is also installed
my song folders are in c drive/ mtu /kma files/kma.
folders kma kma 0 kma 1 kma 2 are they in the right place as ihad no problem with 3321 or 3.4
i have 13000 songs most are kma when you put them on 401 playlist they show up as hbzip or cdcdg the audio is fine

I am not sure what you mean by this. Are you talking about the preview in the upper left corner?
Have you tried it with one screen (turn the Automatic Start off), drag the lyrics screen back to computer monitor.restart the song and see if the lyrics show up?

i"ll try to explain this way referring to 401 only
when i open 401.
1- far right right shows hdzip or cdcdg
2- when i click on song to play first thing that comes up is internet exployer error song will not play
3- on the bottom of error message reads ( do you want to continue running scrips on this page ( yes or no )
4- when you click yes song will start to play but without no lyrics
5- i have four folders in my c drive that contains my files which are kma files yet when you bring songs on playlists they do not show kma in far right type line. is that a problem.
6- the only thing that shows on monitor screen is marque.with line going from right to left only, on bottom two words saying GOOD GOOD,the rest of screen is black.

3.4 only
1-when you open 3.4 with playlists
2-type reads hdzip or cdcdg
3-when i click on song to play the song plays good video and audio
4-the only issue with 3.4 is when you open 3.4 there is a box on the face
of 3.4 thats the same as upper left corner which is black and has list
of the songs you have in playlists in that square and will not allow to .
be deleted.

Good explanation.
Just so you can understand this a bit more, the KMA designation (extension) is all songs imported into Hoster. The right hand column you see tells you how what format the files are actually in.
CDCDG - means it was imported directly from a disc.
HDMP3 - would an MP3+G that was imported from the Hard Drive
HDZIP - would be a zipped MP3+G, WMA+G, or WAV+G imported from the Hard Drive.
HDBIN - would be a BIN file imported from Hard Drive.
And there are more but that is enough to let you understand what that column means.
The zip files are the hardest for Hoster to work with for several reasons. There are so many zip formats that MTU has a hard time including them all. The more compressed they are the longer it takes for Hoster to unzip, store in temporary files and finally play them. This is not part of your problem but just FYI. I personally will not use zipped files in Hoster. The savings on space over the unzipped formats is so minimal that it isn't worth it. I unzip or actually convert them all with Songverter and then import.
Your black screen you see in 3.4 is the SND. If you want to use it then drag it to the TV and resize it or double click on it to make it full screen. Same as 3.321 SND. If you don't then turn it off with the Tools command for it.

music but no graphics, i reinstalled hoster 4.0 and everything worked. Bob

maybe the problem i have is what i"m installing is 401
you said you installed 4.0 should 4.0 be installed first.i do not have 4.0

That would be the SND that Dale referred to. Even if it's turned off in 3.4, when you Open 4.xx it automaticly turns it back on requireing resizing for use in 3.4 or turning it back off.

This error means that DirectX overlay is not turned on or you are running an old version of DirectX. DirectX 9.0c should be what you have installed. If not, please do the Windows Updates, click CUSTOM, not EXPRESS, and find the DirectX download.

If you have 9.0c, do the following:

1. Click the Start button,
2. Select Run and enter dxdiag
3. If using XP go to the "Display" tab
4. In the middle of the page you will see "DirectX Features"
5. Enable both directdraw acceleration and direct3D acceleration

Post back if you have any questions.

The Windows default is to have these on, but Nero turns them off if you run Nero.

also checked everything was working proper . reinstalled directx 9
i now have video and audio.

the other issue is with 3.4 as before when you open 3.4 a black square shows up and in the centre that shows in white lettering what you have in your playlist example two songs.
this square has nothing to do with lyrics when you are playing a song nothing changes in the square. You canT do anything to get in of your screen i can"t understand why this would open up .

anyway on a brighter note hoster is working now for me and makes me happy another good job by all "A big thankyou to all"
