sp3 important msg..

i kinda did a searched on sp3, from what i read , ( if i read it correctly or understood it right ) every problem that was happening to 4.0 ( video, comp. crashes ( blue screen ), audio, and lost of files )was because of sp3( this is just my opinion ) ..and also this is from HP "the problems could, occur because xp sp3 tries to place on computer a power mgmt. drivers thats only supposed to run on pc's that use intel chips " and also you must first download ie7 before updating to xp3

No one has reported computer blue screen crash while running 4.0. The reported crashes are program crashes not computer. AMD processors have always given programers fits because they do not function the same way Intel chips do.
No one has reported lost files either.

How about a link to the HP article so we can read all of it?

Since IE7 came out long before SP3 then I would guess that would be why it is supposed to be loaded prior to SP3.
As far as power management there has always been this in XP and in previous versions. It sounds like they have updated the drivers for that. Not sure what HP's problem is with it unless they use a lot of AMD processors.

the blue screen i am referring to was when updating to sp 3.not when running hoster 4.0, i didnt get the link add, i just did a search ,it's just one of the problems listed in connections to updating to sp3, the reason i included ie7 was , since sp3 will be the last sec. update for xp, alot of user are still on ie6, and people are updating to sp3 without knowing that they have to download ie7 first.

Believe me that will not be the last security update for XP. Microsoft still produces security updates for NT and 2000. Even though the software cannot be purchased they still have to support those who are using it if there is a security problem. There aren't and feature upgrades or add-ons for those, but security is required for them to do. XP will get the same treatment.
