grabbing the lyrics of a karaokefile into a .txt file

Yes, is this possible?

Is there a way to extract the lyrics from a .kma file or a Mp3+g or .CDG file or any format at all and save the lyrics in a .txt file?

Best regards!

Martin, Denmark

No. The lyrics in karaoke music files are not in text format. They are stored in a graphic format which prevents extracting them.
However most music lyrics can be found on the internet. If you do a search for lyrics an large number of sites will come up to check for the song you are looking for.

For starters, here's one of the best around. I go there first. I find their lyrics to be dependably accurate.

Well, thank you!

I use Hoster for live performances (I am the only one who sings!) and I want to make some kind of backup in case the computer (not hoster!!) crashes! A hiqh-quality MP3-player and all lyrics printed on paper would quite do the job. And if I could "grab" the lyrics directly from the .cdg files I would be certain that it matches the music exactly! (I can easily extract MP3 files from the original karaokediscs using NERO or any other ripper.

I will take a look at lyricsplayground, but I have the feeling that I will need to check each song that lyrics and music match 100%

Thank you for the feedback.

For sure. Crocks me how many commercially produced CDG tracks we pay good money for have wrong words in the lyrics.

I think this has something to do with the copyright and the actual lyrics the songwriter wrote, not what the actual singer sang on disc.
