Searching for Files

I have put Hoster 3.321 onto a backup computer, then copied my KMA files. I have added the folder where my KMA files are in the BUILD DATABASE BOX, then proceeded to build database. When I then search for a song Hoster cannot find anything absolutely nothing. Can someone help Please.

When you rebuildt the database, did it give you a number of songs that are there? If not, then it didn't add them, so you'll need to try again. But, if you're using Vista, you may have put the songs in a folder that is not accessible.

Thanks for your input Skybird74. Currently I am running Windows XP, have to say too many problems with Vista at the moment. Yes it did count the amount of files when I rebuilt the database and I can see them if I click on Book ID but only one at a time. But if I Search By character or by * it finds nothing, as if there is no database there at all. Any Ideas. Christian

Be sure to click the buttons for artist and title, but don't click on Mux or duet as that will only search for those items. I usually leave brand, bookid diskid title and artist on.

In the "Seach" screen, make sure the tabs are pressed that you want to search by. Using the asterisk *, will only bring files up that actually have that listed in the song header. One time I was searching for a song I knew that I had, and didn't realize until later that I had accidentally "unchecked" the "Title" tab & so the song I was looking for did not come up. So, whatever category you are searching for - that "tab" needs to be pressed.

Hey Presto, thanks guys. I made sure MUx & Duet buttons were off and I can now find my files. Appreciate your input. Christian
