Red face Problem reloading Hoster into Laptop

I've had enough of Vista and all it's associated problems especially with "Hoster" and replaced it with XP this week, however, when I try and reload Hoster from my CD, I get an error message headed

"Unhandled Exception"

Error No:0X80040703
Description: Failed to find DLL function: _ismtu.SetProduct
Setup will now terminate.

I would be eternally grateful for any help in overcoming this problem.

Lloyd

This means you haven't done all of the Custom Updates from Microsoft. Those have to be completed before loading Hoster.

Question

Sorry to sound like a dill brain but are there particular updates I should be looking for to download? I've downloaded those that I think are relevant but the same error message keeps popping up and I can't load Hoster.

.Net framework for one and any updates to it (which will not show up the first time). Your best bet is to do them all and that way make sure you have what is needed. Even some of the ones that don't sound like something you need may have changes in them that effect other things.

Hi.

I use Hoster in a laptop (Compaq) with Vista Ultimate, 1 gigabyte memory, Intel dual core T2080. Run Hoster, Karafun (Have lot karaokes in this format), Virtual DJ (for mixir mp3 music), SRS Audio Sandbox (Enhanced the sound of my laptop to very high sound), simultaneous for my shows and no problems. Work fine. I configure Vista to minimal requeriments.

Work without problems with Hoster and vista.

I'm really happy to hear that. Maybe it's just me but I've had nothing but problems with the Hoster/Vista combo so glad to get rid of it.

Well lets hope that the BETA testers for HOSTER 4 will get everything ironed out soon. I am looking forward to the new features.
