3321 Upgrade question

I just upgraded to 3321. The first time I ran the program it gave me a dialog box to select the song files folder. I have them all in one folder. So I selected it and it built the database. It said that there were 10 with duplicate bookids. Hoster runs fine, but everytime I start it up again, it asks me to select any song folders (the same dialog box as the first time). If I select "cancel" the program proceeds normally.

And checking the PC, I now have one folder: C:\MTU that contains 2 folders:
Hoster (Bucket.mdb, Songs.mdb, songs_backup.mdb, etc.)
KMA Files (empty)

Another folder exists as :
C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited that contains a folder (Manual) and Hoster.exe. I think this is where 3.319 resided before I removed it as per instructions.

Then I also have a folder C:Program Files\MTU where I always store my upgrade .exes. It contains 4 folders : Databases, Playlists, Songbook, Songs. All my kmas are in the "Songs" folder.

The default kma directory in the "add folders" dialogue that hits at startup of Hoster is the C:Program Files\MTU\Songs.

Why do I see the dialogue each time I start Hoster? Do I need to copy the KMAs, move them, what to get the dialogue box to stop popping p?

And it appears as if my Hoster.exe is in one folder, the .mdbs are in another, and the kmas are in another. That doesn't seem efficient.

I am using Vista (ugh).

Thanks

Even though you removed 3.319 it does not change you settings. When you installed 3.321 you should have seen a screen telling you to go to a link on MTU's web site and follow the instructions before proceding with the install.
What you have set-up (file and folder locations) is not correct. You need to change some of this to prevent Vista from hiding your files, including the database files, your playlist files, etc.
You need to follow the instructions on the following link to protect your files from Vista:
http://www.mtu.com/upgrades/hoster/vista-upgrade.htm

While your at it, I would move those upgrade files to the new location too so you won't lose them.

Thanks

Thanks- I uninstalled 3321, moved the KMAs and re-installed and pointed to the folder. No more pop-up each time. Much appreciated.
