Copy the files to the external drive. Once you are sure they are there delete them from your C drive.
Then in Hoster go to Tools/Build Songs Database. Delete the C drive folder where they used to be and add the external drive folder where the files are now. Then click Build Songs Database button at the bottom.
That is all there is to it.

You need to find you someone locally that you can depend on then, because I can't explain it much simpler than that.

3. Verify the KMA files are on the external drive.

4. Using My Computer, view your C drive and locate the KMA files. View the manual for the default folder (Run Hoster, click the "Hoster Manual" on the Menu Bar at the top). This would be under the Import CD Tracks topic in the Table Of Contents (TOC).

5. Delete these original KMA files by selecting them and pressing the Delete key on your keyboard.

6. Then in Hoster click the Tools menuj "Build Songs Database" command.

7. In the dialog box that appears, in the list window (large white background in the middle of the dialog), click the C drive folder where they used to be and click the "Remove (whatever)" button.

8. Click the "Add (whatever)" button to see an "Open File" dialog. Locate the external drive and folder you copied your KMA files to, and click the OK (or Open, or Add... whatever it is) button.

9. The external drive folder should now appear in the list box.

10. Click the "Build Songs Database" button at the bottom. You will see a message box showing how many songs it has indexed, until all are done.

11. That is all there is to it.
I hope this helps.

Question card help

hi everyone,
i am planning to buy a new dell laptop and purchase hoster to run my karaoke shows.i was worried about the dual display card issue. can someone please tell me if the new dells are compatable with the hoster program or do i have many optional things to buy to make this show work? i know that dual display card is needed for karaoke but i am hoping for more information before i buy an expensive laptop only to find i need a different video card. all professional input makes my day awesome. after that it is a long tedious job of putting all my cdg's on the laptop.also i have a seagate 500 gig external hard drive lined up. how would i put the songs in the external hard drive and not in the laptops memory. as you can see im not a computer genius. thanx to all rock on

you need to get a 7 pin s-video cable, dell sells it for $10,00 most of dells laptops has 7 pins ( i have 3 dell laptops ), and when you import your songs , make sure to change the " save to folder " to your ext. drive letter , whether its an "F or G", if you can't get the cables from dell, go to www.s-video.com they sell it. its called 7 pin s-video to rca cable, and you can get whatever lenght you want .

I would pose this question to Dell. Since you are talking about new models then they would be the ones to answer that question. What you need to know is does the video card support dual display and extended desktop. If it doesn't then it won't work for Hoster.
When you import your CDGs through Hoster, you can set the location where the files will go. So make sure your external drive is attached, create a folder on it and set the Import location to that folder.

Just an FYI, it would be much better if you started a new thread in this forum rather than attaching you question to a totally unrelated thread.

If you are wanting two monitors displaying the same thing then yes that would work.
