Lyrics running several bars behind music
I have been using Hoster software for several months now without any problems. Just over the past couple of days I have noticed that the lyrics are running (highlighting) a few bars behind the music. I have not made any adjustments to the standard defaults and have not done anything different than simply start up my application, pull up my preferred play list and sing away. I have been able to get things back in sync by closing the application and opting it up again. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If this starts happening frequently, there are two possible solutions. I personally prefer option 2. I see it as a more permanent fix, as there is more latitude for adjustment in the more serious cases.
Option 1-Go into TOOLS, PLAYBACK OFFSET and adjust the audio into sync with the sweep. In your case you'd use the + scale. Option 2-Click START, RUN, type in DXDIAG, click OK. After DXDIAG opens, click the SOUND1 tab at the top of the page. You'll see a slider marked HARDEWARE SOUND ACCELLERATION LEVEL. Move that slider one click to the left. Close DXDIAG. Repeat as necessary, but in most cases moving one click to the left will suffice. It may also be an anomally that won't hapen to you again and neither adjustment is necessary. Simply restarting the program or rebooting the pc may be all it needed. If you feel better about doing something to prevent it from happening again, that would be option 2 also, because if it is working right, option 1 would probably throw it out of sync. Hope this answers your question, George |

![]() Do you use this computer for other programs? Microsoft's Windows has always been notorious for slowing down with age, because the programs don't clean up after themselves. Many temporary files and processes end up getting left open or at least resident in the swap file.
Delete any temp files including those used in Internet Explorer. Defrag your drives. And restart your system just before you open Hoster. That should help. ![]()

After you FIRST Open Hoster and Play the First Song, you see the Sweep behind the Music. If you Stop that song from Playing and start the Play of a different Song, is the sweep still behind the music?
Because, there have been systems where people have reported that the 1st song's Sweep lags behind the Music but the Sweep and music is in sync for all subsequent Songs. What kind of Video Card do you have? Because, when I use to use an ATI RADEON 9600, every time I installed a version of Hoster, the Video was out-of-sync with the Music until I disabled a setting (can't remember which setting, but, if you have an ATI RADEON 9600, I will research what setting to change and POST it). However, the next time I would install Hoster, I would have to re-enable the same setting that was disabled for the previous installation of Hoster. I would alternate upon every installation...strange. You see, this would have saved a lot of typing if you would have listed the specs on your Computer. If you don't have an ATI RADEON 9600, there would have been no need for me to mention this Video Card. But, if you say that Hoster has been working correctly, but now it's not, and you haven't done anything to your computer, then, I would re-install Hoster. |
