fast versions or pc prob

I have a few songs that people say the music is too fast. I dont tend to notice it. For example he song Coutesy of the red white and blue (angry american) by toby keith..does seem a little fast. And a few kid rock and eminem songs miught be but I dont notice it too much. I use to think it was drunks brain= slow processing (reading screen instead of singing. Is this a common problem??

Brings me to my second point. I get alot of people saying the other DJ could slow or speed the song... Can we change the speed of the song ont he fly??? Is this an potion we could add to hoster as well as the fade button?

Thanks

Rich

If we have this feature of slowing or speeding up a song, how do you do it?

Re: fast versions or pc prob

Are you talking about changing the speed of the song (Tempo), or putting the audio and video in sync?

If you're talking about puting the audio and video in sync, go into TOOLS and click on PLAYBACK OFFSET.

Re: fast versions or pc prob

I have one song with lyrics out of sync. If I do as you say, I can adjust for this one song? Do I have to do it everytime I play that song, or does it set in for that song as a default?

Regarding the speed of the song. If the tempo is too fast, is there a way to slow it down?

Re: fast versions or pc prob

I am using 2.215. I had 2.219 but had problems and went back to previous version. As soon as the new update of 3.0 comes out, I will get that. I held off to be sure any bugs were fixed before I upgraded.

Re: fast versions or pc prob

you have to slow the tempo for each song. if it wasnt like that all the singers after the key change will have to sing in the same key as the previous singer.

Re: fast versions or pc prob

First of all I resent your implication the it is the $19.00 for the upgrade that is bothering me. Hoster would be worth it to me if it was $100.00 for the upgrade. I just am waiting for the first upgrade of 3.0 before I make the switch. I figure if there are any bugs in 3.0, the 3.2 will have them fixed.

Regarding the speed of the song, I am talking about the music and lyrics actually going faster then on the CD. I have seen that happen once or twice. I am not talking about key change.

Re: fast versions or pc prob

This is getting confusing.

The PLAYBACK OFFSET has nothing to do with the tempo of the song. It adjusts the entire audio track so it is in sync with the graphics sweeping the lyrics should the graphics be ahead of, or behind the music. It has no effect on the tempo.

Just wanted to keep from confusing the issue regarding PLAYBACK OFFSET.

Don't know any way to change the tempo in Hoster.

George

Re: fast versions or pc prob

That is what I thought. No way to chage the tempo. Not that it is a problem, just that I have seen the tempo speed up once or twice, and wondered if it could be fixed it it happens again.

And regarding the other issue of lyrics out of sync, I now know how to fix that problem if it happens. It has not happened to me more than once in a year, but it is nice to know how to fix it. And of course, others read the forum, so the information is valuable to many readers of the post.

Re: fast versions or pc prob

I agree with Bob, blow it off. Like he said, he has three versions of RED, WHITE, and BLUE, all too fast, so where are the complainers gonna go and get satisfied?

If, however it really got to be a problem, and bugged you, then the only option I can think of would be to copy the audio portion to the hard drive as a .wav track. Then use an audio editing program to change the tempo. I use Goldwave for my editing. It's a good and inexpensive audio editor. Then import the altered track and lyrics into Karaoke Home Producer, and create a new cdg. Then burn that to a cd and import to Hoster as an UNKNOWN BRAND..

It is a way out if need be.

George

Re: fast versions or pc prob

Jack Daniels can do a lot to make a song seem faster than it should be. Evelyn Woodhead has a speedreading course that can help. Some of the people singing here dont even look at the screen, and their lyrics are way off. Different Mfg's sync and aren't always correct also.

First, Hoster does NOT have TEMPO change. We have key change, holding tempo constant. The Key can be set for a song when it is added to the Playlist. It also can be changed on the fly while a song is playing. When we add a Singers Database of the songs they sing, we will also save their keychange for that person.

Hoster does not change the tempo of a song. On rare ocassions, we have found users who had "unknown files" that would play back at a faster speed. In these cases the song was always recorded at a sample rate lower than 44.1KHz. When played back it would be faster.

Can we add Tempo change? Yes, we will consider that. However, there are very few asking for it so its low on our list of other more pressing requests. Thanks for asking for it.
