Certainly not!

Hoster, like most programs takes only a short time to install depending on your machine speed and program complexity. It may be a few seconds or a few minutes. However, importing your songs is a different matter.

You’ll need to import your songs into your hard drive. Importing a song takes on an average 1 to 3 minutes, depending on whether or not you use Hoster’s built-in compressor/limiter & normalization features.

Simply, it could take you anywhere from 100 to 175 actual work hours to import 5,000 songs.

Being a Hoster beta tester and reading actual users praises for this software, I believe it’s a worthwhile project

Good luck

Jon

Split thread

I felt that your valid question needed to have its own Thread. That way it is more visible and others will see and answer it.

Thumbs up Re: How long does it take before songs are loaded

Sorry for the confusion, I my statement about 2 months for Hoster.

This time frame included; ordering all necessary PC parts for my rackmount computer, system assembly, ordering Hoster, PC setup, PC checkout, and loading approx 4500 songs from approx 350 dcg disc's. All of this was done in the evenings after a full day at work. This was a 3-4 hr average each night.

I completely had the system checked out at home before I attempted to use in in a show. The time was well worth the effort. My 1st Hoster show was flawless.

I would do it all over again, any day!

"HOSTER" is GREAT!!

Thanks again to MTU for their great efforts on this program.

Later,

kj n texas

Re: How long does it take before songs are loaded

i've been slowly doing if for almost a year. i have 2,000 cdg's and no time to rip. so the solution for me is to take one or 2 nights a week and use my discs and import while i'm running a show. I'm just about done now..only a few hundred left to go. the problem is that i have no free time and i don't bring my rig into the house execpt to do windows updates and such.
