Re: Hoster crashing

A bit baffled as to why you should have this problem.

It seems in your spec you have an external graphic card. Can you try using Hoster without the external card and see if the same problem occurs. If it doesn't occur when not using it then that is a clue to the problem.

Are you playing songs from a previously loaded songlist when they crash ?

If you start from a blank playlist and load fresh tracks from the search dialog do you still get the crash ?

Where you using 5.08 before you got the Alienware laptop ?

Re: Hoster crashing

Hello Roy
Thanks for the reply......
When I bought the Alienware laptop I Loaded 5.08 Hoster......when I run Hoster I shut everything down that might interrupt the program.Hoster Started to crash almost right away after loading 5.08.As for the graphic card ,it is internal ........I have 2 songlist...and the crash has happened on both.I was using 5.08 on a netbook with no issues.
At this point I do not want to play around with the sonlist as I do not want to lose my "SAVED" Singers or chords.....I use this program as a musician so my singers are "CHORDS" and and man it takes a long time to reload.
Is there a way to save the singers column and key column without having to re do it ????????
Thanks
Dan

Re: Hoster crashing

Sorry that was a mistake on my part, I meant your Audio card not graphics, seems like an external. Is it? if so try running without it.

Are your Chords saved from the File menu or by using the singers list?

If the chords are saved under the file menu then using File/New will not overwrite your existing, if you just started a new blank playlist then loaded about 10 random tracks via the search dialog it would help to see if the problem was to do with your saved playlists.

If your unsure before you try the above you could go to the file menu and select "Save As" give it a file name you could recognize and save it. When you want that playlist returned go to File/Open and select the file and you have it back.

Or if you store your chords via the singers database which is accessed from the singers button in the main dialog they would still be available and be unaffected by entering a few random songs via the search dialog.

But I think you need to start from a blank playlist to test for this problem.

Re: Hoster crashing

Thank You Roy
My Singers and chord columns are saved by the File/Menu....I am good there .I can recall my songlist with my information intact.I suppose there could be potentially a corrupted song????? Although my songlist has been consistent since my netbook days.I took the codecs out and since that it "SEEMS" like its behaving better.....but at this point I will have to wait.Hoster has been running for a while and hasent crashed thus far.

Also my graphics are internal also......

Re: Hoster still crashing

Roy....Hoster is still Crashing
if I save the files I have created that have my "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist information in them to my desktop.........then uninstall hoster 5.08...............reload it and place the saved "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist files back in the C:MTU folder will I lose my "SINGERS" and "KEY" and playlist or will it be intact..????
At this point I might have to reload my Alienware laptop and start from scratch...........
Thanks for your help.......
Dan
