![]() Does anyone have any words of wisdom for installing the new digital mp3 files into ones data base? I was looking at buying a library of over 12,000 and was wondering if it was the same as importing a CDG. I want to make sure I don’t end up with Book ID: 900-12000.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
I'm going to assume here you are talking about the Chartbusters collection on their own drive which are all in mp3+g format.
This has been discussed in this thread, read from post #15 onwards. http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?...=importing+mp3 The main point is at the time their numbering system caused a problem. The main conclusion of that thread was to set the field order in the index hd files dialog to (ignore- ignore - title - artist) It will then import them 99 tracks to each book id so you should only use up about 122 book root Ids Example 122-99

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
Your importing them, that in turn will add them to the data base.
From top menu, Import Songs/Index HD Files I attach image of the import dialog showing an example with just 1 file showing. Yours should fill the window with files. First time select Single mode which will stop after importing 99 just so you can check all is going OK, if happy with that then continue with Batch mode selected and it will keep importing another 99 till complete. The attachment assumes they are still named this way ![]() If you choose the kmh option as in attachment it will leave your files where they are and just add a small file with the same name. If you choose the KMA option it will copy all the files to another folder, this way will take a lot longer and use a lot of hard drive space.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
I got the first 99 songs done and they look good. Now I can't get any more songs to come up on the screen to import.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
Do you mean the upper window is empty or the lower window ?
Are they all in one folder or are there sub folders in folders ? if so make sure you tick the box at the top for sub folders. When you select the batch import I don't think the lower box fills untill you press the import button.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
They are all in one folder. I got it to work now. It fillled in the top box and what it filled in did not work so I had to go to my computer and start from there.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
I checked my data base and now the first 99 songs are in the data base twice. I need to get rid of them from the data base so my song book is right but not to delete them from the hard drive. I don't see anything in the manual on this.

Re: Importing Digital MP3's
If you have imported them as kmh types then search in the edit dialog using the multiple tab, deleting them from there only deletes the kmh header file not the original file If you click on the header column of the Book ID it should list them in the order you imported them. I don't know why this happened, had you tried importing them before by another method.
Before you try the above open the Rebuild database from the build songs database dialog and check the list of folders in the bottom window isn't showing a duplicate folder, if it is use the remove folder button to remove one then check your database again. If there are no duplicated folders then use the rebuild database button. This may put things right rather than deleting files.
