Hoster can import from Hard drive many file types. Microstudio imports the files in a BIN format which Hoster can import. In the Import Songs is a button for Index HD Files. There you set what type of file, where the folder is, etc. then import them. For BIN Hoster will create a KMA file in a folder you select at the top of the dialog box.
I would suggest you read the section in the manual for Importing from Hard drive before you start and keep it open while you do this the first couple times.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

I take it then you have already imported these files using Microstudio ?

If not then import from the import CD tracks dialog.

If you have imported these files into M/S and they are still in the .bin format then from the import songs tab select import HD files. Now select the KMA button from the As: option then next to karaoke type select BIN button, then navigate to the folder containing all your bin files, when you can see all your bin file titles press select. The files should then appear in the top most window, A guide appears on the left to guide you through it
Highlight the top track and it appears in the field separators box, you have to adjust these fields to match, when correct press the Add button on the right and the bottom window populates ready to import to Hoster. Check all the info is correct before pressing the index files button, it will then import 99 tracks and stop to let you check the next 99 unless you press the batch button which will make it go on auto.

It's all in the Manuel

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Well I can do that, I guess I should have been more specific. What I was looking for was to move one DiscID at a time with the correct format, into Hoster as KMA files... I tried every combo, then the DiscID-Tract-Artist-Title format worked out of nowhere. However the the Title and Artist were backwards and had to delete the KMA files. I then reversed it to DiscID-Tract-Title-Artist and bing it worked this time, even though I tried it many times before... Now I tried that format dozens of times with different song DiscID's and can't get it to work agian. Something is screwey...Am I missing something?

Re: Importing from Microstudio

First of, are all your original bin file named in the same order ?
If they are named in various orders then you will have this problem.
Next, Do all the file names contain the Disc ID & track # ?
If not then they will not list in an order of disc Id.

How are you deleting your kma files ?
If you are just deleting them from windows explorer then Hoster does not know you have deleted them, you should do any editing and deleting using Hosters edit dialog and if you need to deleting many use the multple option.
If you did delete them in explorer and have not done many it may be best to start again.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Roy, that is the original bin order I set up in Microstudio, and use in Hoster. I also deleted the KMA files using Hoster, not from windows...I don't understand why it worked only that one time, it was sweet, just what I was looking to do. Now it just pops open a blank white screen below, with no error instructions.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

I take it you can still see the files in the Top Window so that you can highlight one to appear in the fields and seperators box ?

If so are you saying that when you hit the Add button that no box pops up telling you the field seperators are wrong.?

Or are there no files showing in the top box to import ?

Re: Importing from Microstudio

The files are in the top box, I click it and it appears in the seperators box. The field is defined as described, and hit the add files button. The box then appears below empty. No pop ups of wrong seperators, however they do pop up when using other wrong field formats... Now you know why I'm scratching my head. What really throws me off is I got it to work once.

Your problem may be the separator you are using. There are several with the dash and you have to get the right one which for Microstudio imports should be " - " (space, dash, space) between title and artist. Since you have to flip those then you also have to choose the separator between them.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Dale, I matched those correctly also. If I match them any other way I get an error report...

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Can you try load one of the files into a zip folder and attach it to your post, it may not go through if the size is two big but if it does it may help us to see the problem.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Well I'm past the numbers I've done in my songs file, and just importing by CD's now. I'll look into it later after I get done importing them all...I only have 682 more CD's to go. Maybe I'll have this ready to go by New Years Eve. The real fun will be naming our 326 audio CD's...OT, I noticed audio CD's arn't recoginizing artists and song titles in the couple I've tested, is there some trick I'm missing.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

I have never imported an audio CD into Hoster although the few I tried did return the Artist And Title ok just by pressing the online Database button.

I always rip my CD using Wndows media player but save them as MP3 files, why I prefer this is you can then import them into Hoster as kmh files which leaves them in a format to be played in other software.
If you imported them into Hoster as kma files you would not be able to use them in any other software player.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Audio CDs will not be listed in the Local Database since this is a karaoke software. As Roy said try the On-line Database which is not controlled by MTU, but is a link to a free database on line. One point to note is with the online one the artist's names are in firstname lastname order, where the local one is lastname, firstname.

Re: Importing from Microstudio

Well I Figured out my problem. If I don't put a DiscID before I add files it works fine. So no problem here...
