5.02 Duplicate Book Id's.

Last night I noticed several songs missing from the search. Using Explorer I verified that the KMA is still in the directory so I assumed the database was damaged. I used rebuild database and upon completion it shows over 1700 duplicate book id’s. I tried to re-index the KMA folder (all KMA files are in this folder) but it only found 5 new songs. Any idea how to fix this?

Re: 5.02 Duplicate Book Id's.

Do you only have .kma files in your database or have you a mixture ?

When you use rebuild the data base it goes through the whole list of files shown in the bottom left panel.
If you have other folders in the list containing kmh files do they contain songs with ID's the same as your kma's ?

If you look down the list of folders in the left panel of the Build Database dialog, do you have any duplicate folders listed or any folders in the C/ drive that are identicle to folders on an external drive meaning only the drive letter would be different?

I take it that when you re-indexed the .kma folder, you highlighted the kma folder and pressed the rescan button when it found 5 extra files, this is how it should work.

Re: 5.02 Duplicate Book Id's.

I have just under 50,000 Karaoke files as KMA. There's about 1000 music videos and about another 30,000 music (mp3) files indexed through the KMH.

I think that is where the problem is. I think there are some music files that have somehow indexed themselves with the same book ID as the Karaoke files.

For some reason the video directory is listed twice. Once as "VIDEOS" and once as "videos". I don't know if that will matter.

Do you think it would work if I delete all KMH and "importedfiles.txt" then reindex?

I think my approach to this then would be to delete as you say all KMH and Imported.txt files. Then remove those folders where the music files and video files are located from the include list making sure all that is left are the KMA folders. Then delete the songs.mdb and songs_backup.mdb files from C:\MTU|hoster or rename them. Rename the duplicates log, so the rebuild can create a new one if necessary. Then Rebuild with just the KMA files. Check to see if you have any duplicate BookIDs from that.
