How do i import vcd's into hoster 4.09

Hi to all forum users,
i am in need of some helpppppp,
I am running windows XP, Hoster 4.09, & windows media player 11, i have also loaded down extra codecs for window media player 11. i have read the section of how to import & play vcd's but i am having no success.i have imported a vcd tracks into hoster 4.09, then i copied & pasted the tracks from the vcd disc in the souce drive into a folder i made onto my external hard drive, when i click on the vidio button on the hoster panel a folder opens up for me to select the external drive & then select the folder with the song track, the track bounces into the play panel on hoster, but when i click on play, it flickers but does not play the vcd song track . i am not understanding what i am reading about vcd track imports. Can someone explain to me the correct way to make a folder in internet explorer on my external hard drive & how to correctly, import & play vcd tracks. I did import some vcd tracks 2 or more years ago when i was running Hoster 3.316, & had great success, but i know i have forgotton how i did this, i am having a brain freeze. Hope someone can help me with this problem.
thanks so much to this forum,
Thanks again svendsen

Have you done all the Custom Updates from Microsoft recently?
What type of VCD files are they?
What do you mean by flicker?
Is it trying to play but is stopping and starting?
You do not mention what type of computer and how much memory it has. These can be factors as well as how much video memory. You also may not have the right codex for that particular file though if it is trying to play I doubt that is the problem.

VCD karaoke files come in several different formats like DAT, AVI, WMV, etc. This is what I was asking for about type of VCD.

Is the computer a laptop or a desktop?
How much memory?
How much video memory?

Have you updated your K-lite codecs lately to make sure you have the newest ones?

Are you trying to play these directly from the DVD? You are supposed to copy those files to your hard drive. Then you add them in the Hoster playlist (Video button).
I hope you are looking at the Show Display when you say you get a black screen and not the Preview. Video will not show in the preview box on the main Hoster window with this version. It will only display on the Show Display which you put on your secondary monitor (TV).
