Cool videos in preview window??

I could have sworn that in one of the recent demo versions, videos could be seen in the Preview window, same as all kma, CDG, etc. songs being played. I was surprised when I upgraded to 4.08 to find that my preview window is just black (as it was in older version) when a video was playing. Is it an available option that I just haven't figured out how to set, or was this functionality removed? If removed, when is it coming back?? As the host, I'm not always in a position where I can see the Singer's Display, so having it on my screen was great. Thanks.

Video Display

Oh yes it was there and worked well for many, but was removed in 4.08 and onwards. Due to many older computers and shitty shitty vista not coping to well. See my older posts. I too would like to see it return.

The player that allowed videos to be seen in the preview window was causing too many problems so MTU removed it from 4.08. I feel confident that MTU will write this feature back into Hoster down the road but for now the only way you can have this feature is to run 4.06 set to use the "New" player.

MTU - add video in Preview Display as option!

It would sure be great if they re-added it. They could make it optional, so those that it caused problems for could disable it, but have it available to those of us that it worked for. That was a really great addition - I was very disappointed to see that 4.08 didn't have it. :-(

It was causing random crashes during shows and this is not what MTU wants to put out for us. Additional problems were also occuring because that player was not written correctly. This why they reverted back to the old player. There was only one version distributed with that player and I doubt that they will bring it back at all. That does not mean that they won't try to get video in the preview display with the current player in the future.

that is the reason i'm still holding on 4.06, i like to see the video on both screens when i'm playing vcd, i never had a problem with the old and the new player...or the 4.06 itself..knock on wood

I only had one small problem, there would be a slight delay between the singers display and the preview starting, still it since using 4.08 on my laptop I have noticed it only uses half the processing power when playing a video file compared to 4.06 making it even more stable and quicker. The key changer works better as well, although i am using AC3 filter for codecs so I am happy to wait for the changes to come when ready. I have a 6" display which i g-clamp to my flight case for my moniter.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'm no worse off than I was prior to upgrading to 4.08, but I was sure looking forward to that feature (as I'm looking forward to being able to add video songs to the songs database and bring them into the playlist the same as the kma files). Thanks again.

That's what I did for my mobile setup. I took a busted travel DVD player and use it for a small display.
