Red face problems problems

did a show friday no problems
did a wedding saturday, firstly the singers screen went blank, tried to close the software and re-open programme froze, tried to do a restart no joy, in the end had to do a hard shut down (switch off), i also had djpro running in the background but my laptop is a duel core with 2gig of ram and has been operating fine with hoster 3,
last night i had friends round running hoster on my home machine quad core and 4gig of ram, quite late on music and words went out of sinc, told my friends they must be drunk, any ideas guys

no,

in the hoster folder is version 3.4 if you are having problems with 4.0X

you have to manually go get it.

c:\programs\micro

it says version 3.4

The file name for it is Hoster34.exe.
You have experienced nearly all of the bugs everyone else has.
As far as the getting out of sync later in the show, you can try a restart and if that doesn't work close Hoster and re-open it and then there is restart the computer. One of the three should get it back in sync.
When the program won't co-operate open Task Manager and shut it down that way. If you have to do that it is best to restart the computer next and then open Hoster.

Smile problems

worked again last night experienced the same problems as before but with the added problem of the screen flashing every 15-20 seconds, i noticed but i don't think my singers did, i also feel that the freeze problem of the software is more likely to occur when you operate the sound effects button while the track is playing .

you MUST backup your Hoster kma files..I have 45,000+ files and they only occupy about 200GB....fit easily on a 320GB HD....you can pick one up most anywhere for $75 or so....hey..like they say it's a no brainer!!

.nic

got another funny one or two for you , imported some zip files, which was being placed over an existing defective track there is no option of makers list any more it has vanished, also if i try to type it in it automatically removes the original book id and reverts to zero as if it was a new track being added. when i attempt to play any track it says this file and all others are .nic files which may not play. guess what they don't. On checking my files they all have the extension of kma ??

Were the original files zip files? If not that is why Hoster would not put the files in the same location.
The missing brand names list would be the Bucket.mdb file which should be in the folder C:\MTU\Hoster. If it isn't there then un-install and re-install Hoster.
Not sure what the .nic file is you referred to, but sounds like your songs database file has gotten corrupt. This and the songsbackup.mdb file are located in the same place as the bucket.mdb file. Delete them both, then open Hoster and rebuild the database.

I didn't realize you weren't using 4.1. I am not an employee of MTU but just a Karaoke Host like you. Most of the answers you get in here will be from people like you and me who have been working with the programs for a while. The MTU folks do answer some questions and watch to make sure no one is getting steered in the wrong direction for fixing their problem. Since there are only a few people at MTU and they are busy working on getting the programs written and working to perfection they don't have a lot of time to get into the forum and read all the items posted. So we try to assist where we can.

4.02 should hopefully be out shortly as they have found most of the problems and either fixed them or are working on them.Keep an eye out on the forums here to see when it releases, so you don't get behind.

Smile Backup KMA files

Since my last lost my archives, now I have two hard drives synchronized. Doing so will not take longer than a few minutes. The process is long at first, then everything is easy and fast. Using software synch. I do not know if they can give the names or recommend that use.

That I no longer have problems. And if any of the hard drives were damaged, the other is exactly the same.

I use an external hard drive encapsulated for my laptop.

hoster 4.1

worked with the hoster 4.1. it is still crashing, noticed that it occurs about 3 seconds from the end of the track, but after restarting hoster it happened at other times, i tried ctl alt del about and forced the software to close and then re-opened it again and off it went as though nothing had happened. short lived though very busy pub so did not have the time to re-boot, reverted back to hoster 3. and finished the night off.
