What kind of zip file are you trying to import? Are you trying to add them to the database or are you loading them through the "MP3G" button? What operating system is on your computer? Try to import it again. If the file has moved there should be nothing to prevent the program from writing it.

I really don't know, they are on a hard drive and i have imported from it before. I had 3301 on my laptop before and was able to import songs from this external hard drive . i have 5400 plus songs imported. I updated to3318 on 12/26/07 (the bad one) it aloowed me to import 2000 plus folly compressed songs but then stopped importing and would show error. I have now upgraded to3319. i can only hope the i rebuilt my data base correctly. my song books shows that i have the same amount of song that i had befor yhe rebuild and all the one i checked do play.
however when i try to import zip files it gives me an error in the import status. Thanks for any help you can give me. I'm using windows xp. I was trying to import zip files using the import hard drives. Thank you small paul Last edited by pselph2528; January 28th, 2008 at 11:35 PM. Reason: add info |

Here's what should happen: 1. You upgrde Hoster 2. You tell the program what folder your KMA files are located in and rebuild your database 3. Hoster will load all of your KMA files into the program and they will work with no adjustments. It sounds to me like you are trying to re-import files that are already in your database. There is no need to re-import your files when you upgrade the program. I Hope This Helps. I'll be online for awhile so let me know how it goes! Jim ![]()

Yes you are correct , i did rebuild my data base with zip files that had already been converted to kma's. The problem is that when trying to import songs with my old 3301, it would not import some songs in a file specialy souund choice. now when i try to import any zip files even the ones that i have never imported before, i get this message " The Target File Appears To Be In Use' It Cannot Be Overwriten C:\Doume~\Paul\Locals~\Temp\MTU_Hoster Temphdzip.mp3.

Once you have upgraded to a new version, you should only use the new version to add any files (or do anything) to your database. MTU makes changes in the program that are not reverse compatable as Hoster grows.
AFTER YOU UPGRADE HOSTER, ONLY USE THE UPGRADE (3.319 in this case) Stop using the old version of the program! Let me know if this helps, I'll be up. Jim ![]()

If it is only the files you've loaded so far, try loading the rest in 99 or less at a time. Let me know if this works, I'll be up. Jim ![]()

All the songs that i had previously imported as kma files, prior to upgrading to 3319 are in my data base (3319 makes you rebuild th data base). Songs that i still want to import that zip files are the problem. evertime i try to import this zip files into mtu i get the before mentioned error.

If you have tried to import the files in batches of 99 or less at a time and you still get the error, try "re-zipping" your zip files. Look at post #7 on the page: http://forum.mtu.com/showthread.php?t=8552 I'm sorry if this doesn't work but I have never had the problem you are describing in this thread (post). Just trying to help! ![]() Jim ![]()

Would you mind taking a screen shot of the error message and posting it here? Forgive me if you already know how to do this, but the easiest way is to wait for the message to appear, then press "Alt-Ctrl-Prnt Scrn" in sequence. Then go into MS Paint and paste into a new image. Save this as a .bmp file and attach it to a post here. Thanks! |

Paul, Is this problem occurring with only one, two, or a small number of Zip files? Or is this happening for all Zip files? Thanks.

Paul,
Open Windows Explorer. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Paul\Local Settings\Temp\MTU_Hoster You should see the file Temphdzip.mp3 and Delete this file. If you don't see the file look up at top of window and click on Tools/Folder Options then click on View at the top of that window. Check the box to "Show Hidden Files and Folders" and uncheck the boxes for "Hide extensions for known file types" and "Hide protected operating system files" Click OK on the question that pops up. Then click OK on the window to close it. You should now see the file and be able to delete it.

Delete the file again and restart before you try again.

Paul,
One thing that I haven't seen mentioned here, but that is important to MTU programs, is the need to update your version of MS Windows to the latest level. If you haven't, open up the following program: "Start > All Programs > Windows Update". This will open a browser window to Microsoft, which will check your system for any required updates, fixes, patches, etc. Once this is complete, you may have to reboot your PC (it will let you know). Try this and post your results back here. Thanks! |
