Unhappy Terrible clicking/Static Noise

I've just finished loading Hoster and all my CDG'c on my new Toshiba lap top running windows, not vista and I have a bad crackling sounds like an old 33 rpm record. I've reviewed much of the advice on the forums and my problem sounds familiar. While I will get a 3 prong to 2 prong converter, my crackling problem happens even when I run off my lap top battery, not connected to an electrical outlet.

Very cool product and didn't have this problem on my desk top. Any advice for me? Thanks so very much.

Smile Line Filters

A friend of mine and myself had the same problem with 4 laptops. Bought line filters at Radio Shack for ALL 4, the noise stopped. They are a small barrel type filter with chords & RCA plugs on both ends, plus an adapter to go from the laptop headphone jack to the RCA's on the filter line, which then goes to the mixer. Really reasonable in price, simple, and they work! Seems like if the 3 to 2 plug at the wall socket doesn't work, you need to isolate each problem, at least that's what we find.

"does it crackle in a different outlet in a different house ??"

Thanks Beavis...yeah it does. I took it to my neighbors house, the club where I play and home and the clicking continues. What surpises me is that it clicks even when not using an external power source.

Also

If you get a "Ticking" sound like a clock, shut off your internet clock! But after the filters never have had a problem.
