Help with monitor?

I hope someone out there can help a new Hoster guy with my video problem. It has taken quite some time to get all my old CD's loaded up and I've finally started using my laptop on my last two shows. The problem is; all I can get to show up on my tv monitor is whatever I'm looking at on the laptop screen.

I've taken the time to read through several postings here and I haven't found anything that works so far. Any ideas out there?

You need to be in EXTENDED DESKTOP mode, not dual display mode..

Have the remote monitor hooked up to the pc and and turned on.

Reboot the Pc.

Right click on a blank spot on your desktop.

Click PROPERTIES.

Click SETTINGS.

You should see two monitors. Click on #2 to highlight it.

Check the block next to EXTEND MY WINDOWS DESKTOP ONTO THIS MONITOR.

Click O.K.

Now you should see your desktop minus any shortcuts or toolbars. Reboot if you don't.

I split this out as it needs separate handling, not being part of another Thread.

dual display

I had same problem with Dell Latitude laptop which under device manager shows a Mobile Radeon 7500 display which is supposed to give dual display. It doesn't. I downloaded a program named "Ultramon" and it works great. If you are using SVideo you will probably need a "modulator" which you can buy at Radio Shack for approx $20.00, if your karaoke monitor doesn't have a SVideo input. Good luck Alan hope this works, it did for me
