re-installing hoster

my 4 mos. old laptop crashed over the weekend, ( played outdoor moisture or cold weather ruined my hardrive i guessed )..called dell tech support..gave me a wrong adv.my laptop has a media center edition.i was told to used my xp home edition os, and the driver /utilities cd from my old laptop to open up my windows etc...now i have no audio, video and bunch of stuff is not working now,and now i was told by another dell tech support that i downgraded my laptop i was supposed to used windows media center editon restoration cd..waiting on hardive and the correct os and the driver/utilities from dell.i asked mtu to re-set my reg. which they did ( thanks ! ) when i get all these stuff from dell can i just load the back up copy of hoster i made to re-install hoster?

Yes as long as the reset has been done just load it with the same registration code.
