Songbook problem

I have recently rebuilt my song database and created my songbook in MS Word. When I printed it, I have multiple listings for the same Artist, that is, an artist with 2 o 3 songs under the name, then 6 or 7 more under the same name heading. There doesn't appear to be any discrepancies in the spelling, spacing or punctation. I imported the majority of songs from the database or freedb, but do not notice anything consistent about the errors. I did import songs in another application but same version of Hoster and merged the songs into the application I printed the book from. Any suggestions? Thanx

I have had the same problem before. What it is the font is just a litte differant from each other.

Go to the tools menu and select Edit Songs. In the Search field, type in one of the "wrong" artist names on a different line in your Songbook. Then select each song that is under this wrong artist, and past the correct artist name in the Artist field below. Click the Apply button for each song.

It's a long process to correct all of them but I have been through it.

it is different spelling and different capital letters. i had the same problem and went through my whole database and fixed them all, it took weeks to do.

even a space at the end of the artist or title will make the difference.

Beavis is correct.

There is no "Font" stored; it is all ASCII text. Thus, it is CHARACTERS that are creating the different Artist headings.

This will happen if you use various sources (FreeDB included ) for the Artist names.

Question Header and Footer problems

I have been unable to add header and footer information on a songlist. Any ideas about why?

Try saving it as a Word Document before you try to make changes. Word 2003 will bring in and save RTF files as they are and RTF doesn't support headers and footers.

Thumbs up

Like Dale said it will work if you save it as a word file. I just done mine with Office 2003.
