Importing into Hoster

I have not purchased Hoster yet because I have some questions. Can .KFM files be imported into HOSTER and the songbook? Can I import song lists from an Access database? Currently, I use another HOster system that uses .KMF files on the hard drive. I also use Access for my songlists.

imports

Yes....all of my songs are kmf's right now on the hard drive. How will the songbook work with these? I also store the songs in an Access database with disk title, artist and song.

You will have to import the songs again from the CDs as Hoster cannot use the .KMF files. The KMF file is a proprietary file format just like Hoster uses .KMA type file as its compressed CDG file extension. Hoster is capable of importing .CDG, .BIN, .MP3G and .ZIP files that are added to the songbook. When you import into Hoster it builds the songbook as you go, which can be printed in Word.

I am not sure what you mean by importing "song lists" from Access. If you are referring to a playlist then the answer is no. Hoster has its own format for playlists which can be saved and it isn't ina database formatted file.

Our Sales manager saw a web page last week for a KMF to MP3G (or BIN?) converter for $45.95. It would be well worth buying if it is available. It was on the web site of the other product you have been using.

Once you convert your KMF files to MP3G or BIN, you can import/convert them into KMA files, automatically added to Hoster's Songs Database. Then, your Hoster created Songbook will automatically show and order them.

BTW: MTU has legal registration of the mark "HOSTER". No other karaoke product can use our name. Click here to view the registration documents.

Question Convering to KMA

I have BIN and MP3G files I want to convert to KMA. I can't seem to do it from the hard drive, as IMPORT only gives you the option to get data from a CD Drive. I have over 4000 songs that I converted to a hard drive as KMF's, that I'm converting to MP3G's so I can work with them in Hoster. But I'd like to get ride of the MP3G's and use KMA's instead.

When you import them into Hoster the program will create the KMA files in the folder you set as your songs folder.

Click Hoster's Import Tracks menu, then the Import hard drive files command. This screen allows converting from MP3G to KMA. It is VERY IMPORTANT to read the manual on how to use this screen. It has a lot of flexibility, thus it is harder to use.

After you do them all, I'd suggest you backup your MP3G's on CDROM or DVDROM, then you can delete them as they are now duplicated as KMA files.
