hoster will not run

Hello,
I previously wrote that each time I try to open hoster I get an error message pop up telling me that Hoster.exe has caused a problem and will now close. The program never starts anymore. I have uninstalled it many times and gone to the registry and deleted the keys from hoster. The attached is what I get from windows:

I don't think Hoster has to have a Writer installed on the computer. I have used Hoster without out one in the laptop I used to have Hoster on and it worked fine.

Thank you. I can't remember whether I installed the battery prior to using hpster the last time or not. All I know is that it will not run now. I am away from home up in Portland, Or and have going home to Idaho today. I will remkove the extra battery and install the cdrom and see what happens. I guess if all fails I just received anh external hard drive and I will install on it and then clone the disc if it works. Hope I have good luck as I have a Karaoke show to run this evening.. Thanks again and wish me good luck. Alan

For everyone s information. I just returned home to Idaho and re-installed Hoster on my laptop and removed the second battery and it runs very well. I also tried it with and without the cdrom and it works as well. Thanks for any and all info from those members who responded. May be something to remember if same happens to you. Thanks again Alan

We're glad you are back up and running. I never cease to be amazed at what can influence software running on a computer.

Hoster 3.314 has a totally new CD/DVD Drive interface code. However, I find it hard to believe that the code in 3.313 could have prevented it from running... with 2 batteries no less!

hoster will not start

Thanks for the reply. The problem I had was when I removed my cdrom and installed my second battery hoster would keep sending an error message to Microsoft. I removed the 2nd battery and it worked even without a cdrom. Yesterday before I downloaded 3.314 I tried it again with the 2nd battery and got the same error. After I installed 3.314 I tried it and it works great. Don't understand it either. !!!!!!! Alan
