hoster will not run
Hello,
I previously wrote that each time I try to open hoster I get an error message pop up telling me that Hoster.exe has caused a problem and will now close. The program never starts anymore. I have uninstalled it many times and gone to the registry and deleted the keys from hoster. The attached is what I get from windows: FILE_DESCRIPTION="Hoster Application" COMPANY_NAME="Micro Technology Unlimited" PRODUCT_NAME="Hoster" FILE_VERSION="3, 3, 1, 3" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="Hoster.exe" INTERNAL_NAME="Hoster" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT="Copyright © 2002-2006" VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x1" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="3.3.1.3" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="3.3.1.3" LINK_DATE="12/05/2006 20:36:06" UPTO_LINK_DATE="12/05/2006 20:36:06" VER_LANGUAGE="English (United States) [0x409]" /> for Windows" COMPANY_NAME="Padus Incorporated" PRODUCT_NAME="Padus Foundation Class" FILE_VERSION="4.60.00.1265" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="Pfc.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="Pfc.dll" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT="(c) 1996-2005 Padus, Inc. Maybe someone with a bit more experience can help.. Thanks Alan |

I am just wondering if you need a cdrom installed in order for Hoster to run??? I removed my cdrom and installed a second battery for more run time!!!!!

![]() I don't think Hoster has to have a Writer installed on the computer. I have used Hoster without out one in the laptop I used to have Hoster on and it worked fine.

no run
Thank you. I can't remember whether I installed the battery prior to using hpster the last time or not. All I know is that it will not run now. I am away from home up in Portland, Or and have going home to Idaho today. I will remkove the extra battery and install the cdrom and see what happens. I guess if all fails I just received anh external hard drive and I will install on it and then clone the disc if it works. Hope I have good luck as I have a Karaoke show to run this evening.. Thanks again and wish me good luck. Alan

Just wanted to let interested parties know: After upgrading to 3.314 hoster now starts and runs using two (2) batteries. Very happy. Thanks Alan

![]() Hoster 3.314 has a totally new CD/DVD Drive interface code. However, I find it hard to believe that the code in 3.313 could have prevented it from running... with 2 batteries no less! ![]() ![]() |

hoster will not start
Thanks for the reply. The problem I had was when I removed my cdrom and installed my second battery hoster would keep sending an error message to Microsoft. I removed the 2nd battery and it worked even without a cdrom. Yesterday before I downloaded 3.314 I tried it again with the 2nd battery and got the same error. After I installed 3.314 I tried it and it works great. Don't understand it either. !!!!!!! Alan
