MP3 Music files not playing in Hoster

I use Hoster to play some mp3 music files for dance songs at the end of a round. Since I have upgraded to 3.3 there are some of the files that won't play now. Hoster says check file format. These are the same mp3 files I have always played through Hoster. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are these being used in a DJ program such as mixmeister?

No, I just play them through Hoster sometimes at the end of a round. These are files that I have played before on Hoster before I upgraded to 3.3

Since Mixmeister cataloged most of my mp3s on my backup computer they will no longer play in Hoster, I get the same error message as you.
Apparently the cataloging process changed them in such a way that Hoster doesn't recognize them.

Check the "modified" date on them. Unless you've changed their name or id tag since you ripped them the modified date should be the same as the created date.
If you want to mail me one at Karaokespotlight at cs dot com, I can try it on my computer

Sam

MP3's won't play

I'm having the same issue on some songs. Played fine until update. They will still play just fine with media player. Thanks

I talked to our Programmer who released 3.300 and 3.301 (BTW: Which do you have installed?), and there is nothing we are "aware" of that would have created problems with audio MP3 files.

Please attach a short one to your post in this thread so we can test it. We will delete it once we have it.

If you can't attach it, please email it to support at mtu dot com and add a message that it is for the "MP3 Music files not playing in Hoster" thread.

We'll disect the header and discover what is happening.

I am using 3.301. When I get home this evening I will attach one. I will also test one on my backup computer. It still has 3.300 on it.

Larry I checked the one you sent and I do get the "check file format" error on my show computer and backup although it works fine in winamp.

Except for the mp3's that were cataloged by mixmeister, all of mine are working fine,butt...the mp3 portion of some mp3g's are getting the same error msg.

The same file plays on my backup computer. Everything is the same on it except I am running 3.300. The one that it won't play on is 3.301. They are both Shuttle Computers with everything the same in them except one has more memory in it. I know this since I built both computers myself.

We solved the problem!

The MP3 file was compressed with 256Kb, which we did not support (don't ask why... ).

Hoster 3.302 will go out today for beta testing, and I'll see that you get a copy to test also. It now plays ALL MP3 compressions except variable bit rate, which will take longer to support.

Also, closing the Search dialog box now returns the focus to either the BookID field or the Brand field, depending on which is selected.

Thanks for reporting this problem. We aim to please...
