Plextor Drive is stuck.
Hi
Hope someone can help. I have been happily converting my karaoke tracks to KMA files onto my external hard drive. Suddenly, for no reason, when I clicked on "Add disc tracks to import" my drive and programmes on my computer froze. Now unless I eject any disc that is in my plextor drive (52/24/52A) be it karaoke or audio, until I take the disc that is in there, out, I can't use the computer. I have checked the drive in systems, and it shows that apparently it is working fine. Any ideas ![]() Martyn Jacey |

Can you check your external drive for space available? Also, it would help if you would post some helpful information for us: - Hoster version # - Machine info (CPU type & speed, RAM size, OS with service pack, etc.) - CD Brands & IDs - Any Windows messages you may be receiving - Anything else that you can think of to help us resolve this. Thanks! Dave www.mtu.com |

Also check your event viewer and see if/what it recorded. It will give you a link to microsoft where they may or may not have some info for you.

Thanks very much for your help everyone, but I have a story to tell.
Because I want to test my Hoster system at a karaoke I am doing tonight, I thought that I would take my system up to the local computer repair shop. I told them the problem and asked of they could look at it really quick which they said they would. That was at 9.30am. They then phoned me at 3.30pm and said that they couldn't find anything wrong with it and that it was ready to be picked up. ![]() So the moral of the story is, when your computer isn't doing what you want it to do, unplug all the leads and take it for a walk. You might look a little silly, but when you come back it should be working again. ![]() Once again, thanks for the support. Martyn |

![]() If you pull the power plug, leave it unplugged for at least 20 seconds, it should fully discharge the power supply. This "might" clear any remaining problems with the motherboard RAM contents, hard drive and CD/DVD drive being reset, etc. ![]() |

Also, sometimes unplugging things with "pins" that may have slightly bad or dirty connections on only one or two pins clean themselves when plugged back in as well.
