Moving Hoster Software to a new computer

I installed the software on a machine to try it out and upgraded it 3.3, I now want to put it on a laptop so that I can start using it. When trying to install it will not allow the install because it says I have already installed 2 copies.

I did install the original version on a computer a couple of years ago but never actually used it. Do I have to uninstall to deregister the previously installed copy.

If I have a complete computer failure how can I then install it on a new machine without it thinking I have too many copies installed?
