I moved this to the Hoster Help forum where it belongs.
When you import a track from a CDG disc, or from a file on the hard drive, Hoster convertes it to a .kma file. The import process requires you to select a BookID number that is related to the Brand-DiscID that the tracks are identified with.
Whenever you import a track from a Brand-DiscID, Hoster searches its Songs Database, which holds ALL imported songs, to see if there is a BookID already assigned. If one track is found assigned, its BookID is automatically filled in the BookID field before you can import any more tracks for that Brand-DiscID. If no tracks are found with the Brand-DiscID you are now about to import from, you are free to assign a new BookID.
If you have chosen to use some of the assignable Brands, such as "Custom Assembly", "My Reserver", etc., these are still Brands and you had to enter a "DiscID" in that field also. Thus, even when you use a custom Brand-DiscID structure, you are still following our convention, and a BookID will be assigned to each Brand-DiscID pair.
As to Folders, these simply hold the Brand-DiscID files you imported from a CDG disc, or have copied files to these Folders to then "convert" into KMA files using the Import Hard Drive Files screen. Read the manual on changing the Save To Folder: field where you will import CDG tracks to. When you do this, we automatically add your new Folder path to the Build Songs Database source folder list window. Then, whenever you run Build Songs Database, it will use all "known" folders. If you create folders by some other means and Hoster's "Save to Folder:" is not used, then you must add those Folders to the Build Songs Database source folders list window.
Now, I recommend you also read the Songs Database section of the manual so you understand that you do NOT need to run Build Songs Database after you import a disc. I can't imagine doing that!

New imported songs are automatically added to the Songs Database. There are a number of operations (re-import, merge, edit songs, etc.) that AUTOMATICALLY update the Songs Database.
I hope this answered your concerns....
