Post One way

Hello John,
One way to change the file headers is to use Update Query in Access. If you know how to use Access? Open songs.mdb and create update query to replace your drive letter say from "M:\Karaoke Songs\" to "K:\Karaoke Songs\"

This will in a click of a button replace all your listings to whatever you need, but be vewy, vewy careful here. Always back up your songs.mdb file before you try something like this, because one minor error and you will mess up a lot.

Then of course after you run the Update Query you would have to do a Rebuild Database in Hoster.

Let's see if anyone else can suggest a better way to do this first before we go any further. I am an Access programmer so this is simple for me but it is touchy if you're not careful.

P.S. You would naturally need a version of Access, preferably 97 or newer.

Wally
Let me know if you want to do this and I can step you through it or write the query for you and send it to you.

John,
Be sure that what MTUSUPPORT is suggesting isn't the best way to do what you need to do. I just have the ability to use Access to accomplish tasks that would normally take hours/days to manually edit. So naturally I might do it this way. I also don't use Hoster to print my books either.

In short if you manually move all your kma's to one drive, one folder then change the import screen destination path to that drive and folder before you do a Rebuild Database command then you should get the same results. (change the headers in all files(kma's) found in that folder) I'm not absolutely sure of this but believe that to be true.

Help me confirm or deny this someone.

But really, it isn't a bad idea to get into Access a little because it is wonderful for doing mass editing of any large amount of data. But of course you need to actually have Access installed on your computer to work with it. I don't know if Hoster comes with a core version installed inside itself. But even if it does it wouldn't have the the powerful features included anyway.
Now I'm rambling!

Wally
