Unhappy Batch MP3 ZIP Problem, Any Suggestions?

OK So I have finally fiqured out how to successfully import my MP3 ZIpped files using Batch mode, and it works just fine, I get how you have to go to the folder where your files are , Open it until you see your individual song files and you should have no problem, However, I have 250 gigs worth of MP3 ZIPPED files and they are all brokendown in folders, first folder are Brand names example: Pocket Songs, Sunfly etc. Then by disc no. example PS1028, So here's my problem, It seems like it will take me a considerable length of time to steer hoster to every single folder to find each song, I was hoping the "batch mode" in 3110 would be able to seach and find any MP3 ZIPPED after I set the parameters of the files example: disc #-Trk#-Artist-Song title,
Although it as long as you get to each individual floder disc , the import process is lighting fast compared to importing with a cd+g disc. So does anyone out there have any suggestions around this? You can imagine having that many songs and only importing them 15 at a time is a bit much. I can drag and drop copy everythiing to one general folder but that would take almost as long. Help!

when you get to the import screen, select zip, not mp3+g.

Cool

I should have been more specific, I have tried only the ZIP, That's where I'm having the trouble, Is there a dos or windows command that will get rid of all the folders and dump all of their content in one central location, This looks like this would work as long as anyone disc id doesn't go over 99. or maybe I'm going about this wrong, Maybe Hoster does this already and I just haven't found it in the manual yet.

just drag and drop them (zipped songs) into one folder then import them. it imports really fast not like a cd-g !!

nightmare with mp3+g zip's

I have an easy fix for ya. click start and then search...all folders and files..browse to your mp3+g zip drive...click advace options and select search for zip compressed files..highlight it. now browse to the folder you want, lets say your sunfly folder..click it. click start. it will collect every single zip file in that folder. now, select all copy and paste to a folder on your desktop. batch it and run it. now be careful because I have batch and run as many as 3000 zips at one time. Hoster will and does skip disc when batch a large amount..trust me. so to keep track of that keep the folder to all your kma songs open and minimized. when you save your new batch kma song there they will automaticly goe to the end of the list...highlight the first sunfly song and the last sunfly song click properties and it will tell you how many songs there are. compare that to how many songs there was to begin with..now you know if hoster skipped any. sounds tough but very easy once you get started.

Unhappy Hey Thanks That helps but I have run in to an error

I selected a folder and did what you said, but during the batch load of 491 files 2minutes into it , I got this error "Hoster Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenice" Now what? If I restart hoster and try again will it happen again? it seems to have imported a few already, will it know what imported already? I'm gonna try to reinstall hoster then run this same batch again, Other wise I don't think I can run an unattended batch if this is going to start to happen, imagine one with 3000 files!

Exclamation I still get the error message

Well I removed Hoster all together and the reinstalled (Not upgrade) Tried to import the same batch only this time it reported I would be importing 321 files this time so I guess it does start where it left off, However this time when I went to import those files it immediately came up with the same error message, Could a corrupt Zip file cause this?

Exclamation Tried Different folder, Now different error message

Ok so I decided to try a different folder, This time "backstage" and it was working just fine importing over a 1000 files but then stoped and said this error message "The book id you have selected is already in use, Please select or type another book id" Thats just great, but I didn't select it! when I click on the "ok" button it trys to continue on and the error comes up again immediately. I'll try to break the cycle but closing down and rerunning the batch again, I'll also make note of the book id it's hanging up on. Man! this is not anywhere as easy as I thought it would be! Ah the price of progress!

Angry Stuck!

Well I tried! I had to "control.Alt,Delete my way out of the program and that worked. Then ran the batch again and again it got stuck in the same place.
I closed down hoster again through C,A,D, and this time tried to import the rest of the songs but select next on book id tab and it went to a different book id (348, as appose to 912 where it seems to get stuck at) but with the same result! I looked at the book id to see what's in it and it's got only the first song of the disc (in this case it's against all odds by phil Collins) and it's showing as a CDCDG file. Hoster in the "batch mode" seems to be trying to immport the rest of the "phil Collins songs" My thought was to find the backstage KMA file obviously created by a CD+G in my other collection and deleting it, but I'm not sure if that would open the flood gates or not. MTU Help! I thought I was getting somewhere but now I'm stuck in "bookid Twilight Zone" I'll get some sleep now and try again tomorrow.
Well I tried one more time and found the only KMA and deleted it, I ran the batch again and got the error again, So MTU IT"S UP TO YOU, I've run out of ideas this seems to be a glich in the program

when you deleted hoster and did a new install did you delete the folder where hoster stores all the info ???

make sure you dont delete your kma's too.

i have my kma's in a different folder than the hoster folder.

Smile STUCK no more!

Hey Beavis,

I just got past the problem, I deleted the original kma but that wasn't enough, I had to rebuild the Song Data base because when I did a bookid search it still found 912 but with nothing in it, so I knew it saw a ghost or shell of 912 of some sort. After rebuilding the song data base it was able to proceed, Thanks anyway!

HEY PATFO2 I BIG THANK YOU TO YOU! YOUR SUGGESTION REALLY HELP!

Batch Files

I WAS JUST GETTING READY TO ASK THE SAME QUESTIONS AS ErnieaquinoA GREAT BIG THANKS TO PATFO211 ALSO. I FOUND IT EASIER THOUGH TO JUST RIGHT CLICK ON THE FOLDER YOU ARE WORKING ON AND SELECT SEARCH THEN PUT IN .ZIP, IT WILL FIND ALL THE ZIP FILES WHICH I THEN COPY TO A SEPERATE FOLDER ON MY DESKTOP AND IMPORT (BATCH) FROM THERE.

IF YOU HAVE ANY BAD ZIP FILES IN THE FOLDER HOSTER WILL STOP WORKING AT THAT BAD ZIP FILE. YOU THEN HAVE TO GO BACK AND START BACK UP AFTER THAT BAD SONG.
