No database in 3.108
I am trying to import a CDG. When I put in the brand, which is Chartbuster Artist Series, I get no data base to chose the disc ID from. It only shows the CDG's in that brand which I already have imported. This same thing happens no matter what brand I am trying to import.
In the past it would show me all the CDG's in the data base and I would choose the correct one. Then it would read the disc and put in the titles, etc. How do I get the entire data base to show as before? |

Upgraded to 3.110
I upgraded to 3.110 and rebuilt my database. After rebuilding a pop up told me it was successful and another said I had 11,000 duplicate files???
I do have a database of the 11,000 songs I have imported, but I DO NOT have the database that comes with Hoster. How do I get that back? |

No Database 3.110
I asked for help yesterday regarding this problem. 25 people looked at my post but no one seems to have the answer. Perhaps MTU can help me please.
I have no data base. It only lists the discs I have already imported in a given brand, not all the discs in the brand so I can pick the one I am importing and then read the CDG. I had the problem with 3.108 and upgraded to 3.110. Same problem. What is wrong and how do I fix it? |

Go to your C:\Program Files\Micro Technology Unlimited\Hoster\Databases Directory and make sure that you see the Bucket.mdb. If this file is there, then it should be working. Delete the File anyways. Then Rerun the Hoster Install using Upgrade. Let me know what you find.

I did as you instructed. The bucket.mdb file was there. I deleted it, and ran the install 3.110 again using upgrade. It put the bucket.mdb file back, but I still do not have a database.
One thing I notice is the last modified date for the bucket.mdb file is 3/22/2005 Seems it should be todays date. Here is the dates of last modified for what is in the database folder: Bucket.mdb 3/22/2005 Hoster.dat 9/23/2003 Song.mdb 6/29/2005 Songs_backup.mdb 6/29/2005 Songsbac.mdb 3/3/2004 Temp.mdb 1/25/2005 |

I also note that in the past, when upgrading, the instructions were to delete Hoster and then run the install program. Starting with 3.108 or the one before that, the instructions are to use upgrade, which I did.
I see an option to remove hoster and then install ,but I did not do that, I used the upgrade button. Could that have anything to do with my problems? |

I was one of those who looked but didn't post. I wanted to check my show computer before I made any speculation
Well now I've checked and heres my speculation. At some point in the past the bucket database got changed so that the Artist Series discs are no longer under that brand (except what was previously imported). They now seem to be listed under brands as "Chartbuster Pro CB90000" Hope that helps. Sam

No matter what the brand, I have no database other than what I have imported. I did a show last night and everything works fine other than the database problem, which has no effect on the show.
The only way I can import a CDG is to type all the information in myself, rather than getting it from the database. I'm going on a short vacation today and will check this thread when I return on October 9th. Hopefully, someone will be able to solve my problem. |

Please clarify... In the Import Tracks menu, Import CD Tracks command, when you click the Brand drop down arrow, what do you see for the first 10 entries? Please list them here.
I think there is a misunderstanding. If Hoster is not finding the Bucket.mdb database, then Hoster is not running correctly. October 9th! ![]() ![]() |

I just returned from vacation today. I don't have access to my laptop until tomorrow and will do the check as you requested then. I will post what I find tomorrow.
I had my employees doing my shows while gone and Hoster continues to work fine, except for the import problem. |

As requested I went to Import Tracks, Import CD tracks, and in the Brand drop down menu, I see the following for first 10 listed:
Custom Assembly KHProducer Made Unknown Brand Custom Assembly KHProducer Made Private Reserve of Mine Unknown Brand A #1 Series All Beauty DVD All Beauty Laser I see duplicates of the first three above. However, after "A #1 Series", I see no more duplicates in the drop down list. The last item in the list is "Zoom Platinum Artists". If I click on "Chartbuster Artist" in the drop down list I see CB90130 and CB90106 listed which are 793 and 794 in my book id. It should show all the Chartbuster discs, not just the two I have. If it makes any difference, I do not have all the windows updates because when I last updated them about six months ago, I had major problems and has to use system restore to get rid of them so Hoster would work. Since I don't go on internet except to download updates, and only use the computer for Hoster, I am scared to update when things are working OK. Please advise, as I am getting nervous that something else will stop working and I would not be able to do my shows. |

Dlessnau,
This means your Database is working correctly. Are you not seeing the tracks on the CD when you try to read a disc? If this is the problem, then all you need to do is go to the Tools Menu\CD/DVD Drives Default. Click the Down arrow and select your Plextor drive again at the very bottom. Then click Ok. Close Hoster. Reopen Hoster and Try again and it will work.

How can I read the disc if the disc number does not show up in the Brand dropdown menu? If the disc number is not there, it does not know what the songs are on the disc and will not read it.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, Chartbuster Artist only shows two discs in the data base. These are discs I already imported. It will read those discs fine, but it will not read any other Chartbuster Artist discs because they do not show in the data base. |

Try a different Chartbuster selection. If you are importing your OWN discs or discs that are not in the Database, then it will add your new listing into this dropdown. So if you add a Brand of dlessnau then you will now see this brand in your pull down menu with the DiscIDs that you have imported.
So you might be selecting some brand that you have Imported, and not one that is actually from our Database. This is actually what your problem is, as there is no Listing for a Brand called Chartbuster. They are more like: Chartbuster 4+4+4 Gospel Chartbuster 6+6 Country Chartbuster 85000-Hits Of 2000 Chartbuster Essential 450 Chartbuster Essential 450 II ETC..... So this is why you only see 2 discs under Chartbuster. So please select the correct Brand selection for your actual Chartbuster disc.

I am trying to import Chartbuster Artist Series disc 90147. It is not in the data base. Nothing is in the database EXCEPT the Chartbuster Artist Series discs that I have already imported.
I thought I could import this CDG by typing in the 90147 and read the disc, but type in the titles and the artists, like I have to do with a custom disc or a new release not in the database (when I had a database) However, I now see more of a problem. There is no place to click to "read the cd tracks" as before. Maybe I will go back to the version before 3.108. I could import and read discs with that version. |

What is the proper method for upgrading. Removing Hoster and then Installing it, or using the upgrade selection. In the past, we had to remove and then install, now I see the upgrade option and that is what I used when installing.

I will check that out as you say Chartbuster Artist is not in the database, even though it is written on the CDG as Chartbuster Artist Series 90147. Maybe I typed that in before and it is showing only those two I typed in.
However, what about the problem of no place to click for, "READ CD TRACKS"? |

The Upgrade works fine if you are running the similar versions, such as upgrading from 3.108 up to current or 3.006 upt o 3.108. If you are at like version 2.2xx and upgrade to 3.1xx it will give you problems, so for that you would need to remove and then reinstall. That Chartbuster disc you listed is located under: Chartbuster Pro CB90000 it is in here, I just tested it. I am off for vacaction now. Post back if you need help, but I will be out till monday, and will be checking the forums over the weekend, but just not like I am right now.
