Audio Pauses (Graphics keep going)

Lately, the past 2 or 3 gigs, the audio pauses have started up on me again. Seems like every time I do a Windows update, or an anti-virus update, or sometimes even a Hoster update, the computer gets flakey for a few days.

Now, I know that there are approximately 25+ things running under task manager when I start up the PC. I don't open ANY other programs while running Hoster. This is just stuff that starts up. I don't have the PC in front of me, but I could probably post the list in the next couple of days.

Can someone tell the only things I should see running under task manager?

I don't know why it has started up with this again, but it's a very similar audio pause as the PHM problem a lot of us were having months back, only it doesn't discriminate against a certain brand, and it has nothing to do with graphics fading in and out. It did it on Sound Choice, DK, and PHM last night, 7 times.

Now, I haven't changed to 3.108 yet, but I doubt that the Hoster version is the problem. The PC was fine up until last week, when I updated Windows, anti-virus, etc. Then, I noticed these problems.

Anything in particular I should be checking?

Re: Audio Pauses (Graphics keep going)

Anti virus should be disabled during a show. It will randomly scan a file, even as you are playing, and this could be the problem. make shure all autoupdate programs are disabled, at least while doing a show. I dont like to have anything running in the system other than hoster when I am doing a show.

Re: Audio Pauses (Graphics keep going)

Anti-Virus is disabled during the show. I do that everytime I fire up the PC when I am going to run Hoster.

I'll double check the auto-updates. Pretty sure I have all of that disabled as well.

Thanks.

P.S. - Going to upgrade tonight as well, so will have time to mess with it after that, too.

Re: Audio Pauses (Graphics keep going)

i had almost the same kind of problem last friday night.

my problem was after the first song played, the very next song that played, the volume level was very low no matter how much a cranked up the volume on my amp.

i was drawing a blank after a few newcastles.

so then on saturday morning when i went to trouble shoot it, i went into the volume properties and found that the wave volume was almost to zero. i cranked it up and everything was fine.

i dont know if hoster does anything with the volume (probably not) or my guy messed with the properties.

i hope all is well when i fire it up this friday.
