How do I transfer hoster to new computer?

I want to transfer my Hosters and song database to a new computer. How do I do that? I have all my song imported on an external hard drive, so the only concern is to transfer song database to new computer. Do I need to "remove" Hosters from my old computer before I can install to a new computer? What is the procedure to remove Hosters? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Use the Tools menau Build Songs Database command to rebuild your Songs Database when you need to.

Re: How do I transfer hoster to new computer?

you first need to uninstall hoster from your old computer then you need to re-install it on the new computer. after you reinstall and plug in your external hard drive, then use the tools menu "rebuild database" point it in the direction of your external drive.

thats all. make sure you have a back up copy of your .kma's !!!!!

also make sure you point the import folder to your external drive. if your not using a laptop, i suggest using an internal hard drive to store your .kma's.

but before you do all this, you must get permission from MTU to transfer your copy of hoster.

Re: How do I transfer hoster to new computer?

Thanks for replies.

I guess the basic question is that "How do I get permission from MTU to transfer my Hosters from one computer to another" Once this is done, I understand about rebuilding song database and other tasks. My confusion is that I seem to remember removing Hosters from computer is not recommended to use "Remove Software Program" within Windows control panel. It seems to me that MTU recommend remvoing of Hosters a different way. That is the information I am looking for.

just reinstall it and when it asks to repair or modify or remove, select remove.

i dont think it matters if you use windows to uninstall.

Re: How do I transfer hoster to new computer?

Thanks.

I do think it matters. I thought MTU tracks how many installations you have with your license. If you have already isntalled on two computers then when you remove Hosters from one computer, MTU still thinks you have two installations and will not let you install anymore. this is just my assumptions and I am not sure if this is true.
By the way, I wrote to support@mtu.com and asked the same question and I never get any responses from them. It is kinda frustrated.

Post in the Registration & Downloads forum and ask them to reset one of your registrations and why.
