I have a question on this product
If I make a karaoke file using this program and vogone from a regualr cd I have at home is that now my work? I assume its legal? How do I show proof of this to a agent from BIM or whomever may check on me? Do I have to own the origional cd or can I barrow a stack of my firends cd's workem into karaoke files and then they are mine and give my friend his back? How doe sthis work?
Are the files made as good as sweet georgia brown or chartbuster or any other quality disk? Thanks Rich

Re: I have a question on this product
Vogone has its uses, but completely eliminating all the vocals and completely retaining all the instrumental is not its advertised function. The final product of original instruments can be more satisfactory than Karaoke CDs using synthesized instruments. (especially if you tweak it a bit by patching back in non-vocal sections of the songs) However, a good, real instruments, Karaoke CD is preferable (and less trouble as you would still need to add graphics using KHP)

Re: I have a question on this product
Legally, you need to own the Audio CDs you are using music from. If you borrow a friends, you don't own it. You have not paid for the right to use it.
Legally, it is illegal for your friend to loan you their discs knowing you are going to copy them. When you start with someone elses copyrighted work, and modify it, it does not make it your "copywriteable work" now. If it is public domain music, you're OK. Can you use it safely? Probably, but if you do a lot of work in public, if you are found out (a competitor will eventually report you to someone), you can lose all your computers, sound gear and discs. ![]() Is it worth it, or would you rather sleep at night.... ![]() |

I bought a cdg (Elton John) and on one song on it doesn't have the lyrics because they could't get the license for it. Now, if you do this for your own at home no risk but it's like using a good cdg that you bought & blend your voice in it so you can than burn your own disk & give it to friends or worst sell it, it's illegal if you didn't purchase the right from the manufacture of the cdg & pay the license to sell it!! |

If you make a cdg disk using Vogone and that you got the music from a commercial disk, you are using the arrangement that you didn't pay the rights to do this in the first place. When you purchased the commercial cd you bought the right to use it & making a back up if necessary which we already went thru this... but you did not purchase the right to use this arrangement to create a cdg disk! Let's use this example: You buy a commercial cd from Michael Bubble (Hope the name is right), we all know he sings songs that are not his, so therefore he had to pay the right for the songs, right? So if you take his cd and than remove his voice to create your cdg, did you get Michael's permission??? He paid for it not you. Now, if you wish to add lyrics to your own cdg, did you get the permission to do that? Why do you think sometimes we can't find some good songs on cdg, in some cases, they just can't get permission to use the lyrics to build the cdg disk. regards |
