Hoster 2.216 "where is it "

Hi , I have been waiting for hoster 2.216 which on the news page was supposed to be out on the 15/10/04 ,but i have been trying my download link and all i get is the previous version appear. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

The release dates posted on the website are EXPECTED release dates, not firm committments.

When it is performing up to MTU's high standards they'll release it.

This is not new in the software industry. Microsoft missed a release date of XP Service Pack2 by several weeks just recently.

Microsoft should have missed the release date of sp2 alltogether. I can't believe such a major company would release such a buggy project.

Yeah, I remember you having quite a bit of trouble with it..

They have come out with an Update for SP2. It's in the downloads as KB884020. It addresses problems connecting to some IP addresses..

Yes thanks i got it ,but others in my house have had mas problems with stuff like Paintshop pro and other stuff. Microsoft did not know anything about these problems ,bit poor if you ask me. Nevermind ,this is hoster forum and not microsoft so i will stop talking about it now (LOL).

2.216 was to be a very feature rich release. We found some problems that weren't worth solving now. We found other problems with the core features, such as Pause-Restore, and playing .WMA audio files. We also added more significant features such as a window displaying the Singers on-deck, and their songs if you select this.

and are now working on 2.218 #2, expected to be the Final Release Candidate to send out tomorrow for testing.

It it is bug free, we will release it this month.

George is exactly right. The NEWS page clearly states EXPECTED, not GUARANTEED. We will not release a version until our Beta Testers all agree it is ready. We have testers all over the world, and they do an excellent job of finding what we overlook. We do an excellent job of quickly fixing the problems they report.

Sometimes, during testing someone will have a brain-storm and another feature gets added. This is because when you are in a certain code area, to add another feature may be trivial, versus coming back later and trying to add it in the future.

All the beta testers KNOW that I, as President, want 2.218 #2 released!!!

But, they also know I won't until they say GO...

as i have said before, MTU should email all hoster clients and let them know a new release is out!
