Using an Internal plextor with an external USB case?
I just purchased a laptop and will be downloading hoster to run my shows. I currently have an Internal PlexWriter PX-w5224TA that I purchased from MTU and was wondering if it was possible to use it with my new laptop. The quote below is from a KJ who says that he used an internal plextor and an external 2.0 USB case to transfer his CD+G's to his laptop. Is this possible and if so where can I purchase the external 2.0 USB case? Thanks, BOB

Re: Using an Internal plextor with an external USB case?
I use two MTU approved plexor drives one internal and one through USB. To make the external one work, you must have it plugged into the computer and turned on so the computer will find it. You can switch to either.

Re: Using an Internal plextor with an external USB case?
Thanks for the reply Jdavia, So you use an internal and an external plextor but is it possible to convert your current internal plextor writer (using an external USB 2.0 case) so that it may be used with both my laptop and PC?

Re: Using an Internal plextor with an external USB case?
Bob,
Yes. You can put any of the Internal Drives in an External USB 2.0 case and they will work. You might want to make sure you get a good case, I have seen bad ones that won't correctly work. But you should have no problems, call Plextor at 800-866-3935 to see what brand of case they recommend using.
