Downloading Hoster upgrade 2.212 - Problem was Netscape 7
(1) I ordered the Laptop with Hoster already installed with MicroStudio 2.400 The registration number must be in my computer and I can't locate it. If I had that it might be all I need.
(2) I ordered Hoster Software Upgrade 2.212 from 2.014 or prior on a CD. (3) After the upgrade was mailed to me , and I go for my personal download link, at ( not the complete address shown) ------mtu com/download.php?sc= mtu&id= ------ and it wants to access a temp file in my hard drive not on the internet. Now please don't ask if I was connected, I sent this message, right. (3) When I almost had the information they asked for done and the floppy tried to connect me to MTU, A message read something like, Unable to connect to the internet. Inform your administrator. Yes I was connected to the internet. and browsed the forum site to prove it. (4) Again after I received the upgrade, you post another later upgrade. removing the one I should download. Being so close to the upgrade, why didn't MTU send the later one. They made me wait for a newer software version when I purchased the laptop. In the mean time I can't install Hoster upgrade 2.212 the one MTU mailed on a CD Please answer all or the ones needed to get me going again. THANKS |

Re: Downloaded Hoster upgrade 2.212 ? ? ?
Joseph,
Please connect your Computer to the Internet. Open your Email, with your "Personal Download Link". Left click the Personal Download Link. When it asks you if you want Open( or run) or Save the file, click Save. Now select the folder on your computer where you want the installation file saved. Now the file will begin Donwloading to your computer. Once it has finished, you should then select Open, or go and find the file so that you can Double click on the file so that you can run the installation program. The file should now run and Install. The only way that I know that it will go into the TEMP directory, is if you click Open or Run in the first step.

Re: Downloading Hoster upgrade 2.212 - Problem was Netscape 7
Sorry Netscape7. You weren't the problem.
Just after I was sucessfull in starting a download with Explorer. The connection was interupted, and never got the complete download. I waited until later in the evening to try again This is the message I get from both Browsers now. This download link has been used up. If you have a download accelerator program on your computer, turn it off before contacting MTU for instructions. I don't have an accelerator program. To clear that question. I never had such a hard time trying to upgrade any program before. What do they mean? "This download link has been used up". I only get one shot at the download, or is it a choice of words? |

Re: Downloading Hoster upgrade 2.212 - Problem was Netscape 7
Quote:
Our web site will report this message if all 100 of the allowed downloads are used up... OR if the link you try to connect to our site with is incorrect. It appears to us that you are not entering the full download link. Your email program probably split it across 2 lines, which probably prevents you from clicking it directly as it is designed to work. If you can't click it and you are copying-pasting it into your Internet Browser, then make sure you get both lines. A normal download link will start with http://and end with something like id=S3AUDRIZ5PQA. The ending characters will always be different for each download link. You must copy from the start to the end, including everything between them that I omitted for sake of example and to prevent anyone from trying the example above. |

Problem is solved
I accused everything and everyone, including the makers of Netscape, and MTU.
Sorry to all the above I never thought that I could be wrong. It turns out that the download link must be case sensitive since I typed all lower case. You see I printed the file for safe keeping, and had to type the code in. A lesson learned the hard way.I downloaded Hoster 2.213 and it works just fine. Thanks for the excelent and quick help from MTU. |
